I work for a Boeing subcontractor at a Boeing facility, working on mostly completed new commercial aircraft such as 737 max. On jan 1 2024, Boeing ended the contract with the company I was working for and brought in a new company because they are cheaper. The way the company saved money was to significantly increase our health insurance cost with cutrate provider, reduce 401k match, cut hours, use cheaper equipment, make promotions near impossible, get rid of training department entirely, and literally tell people to quit if they dont like it. A lot of senior aircraft techs left, some moving across country to get away from the new company. They have a very high turnover now and cant keep skilled labor for more then a few months. Essentially hire people off the street with no experience that will work cheap. It went from the best company id ever worked for to the worst. Im sure Boeing doesnt want people knowing about its inner workings but its just an example of how things are happening with them right now. Save money at all costs.

My dad was in the aerospace industry for decades including Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. I met many men and I remember nobody wanted to be "The guy", the guy that made a mistake risking the program. Today, that work ethic is long gone.
