The Stranger is a 1946 American thriller, film-noir directed and co-written by Orson Welles.

Summary:
Mr. Wilson, a UN agent, tracks fugitive Franz Kindler to a small Connecticut town where Kindler is now living as "Charles Rankin," a respectable professor. He is set to marry the daughter of a Supreme Court Justice, but he isn't safe because an investigator from the War Crimes Commission is on his tail. Rankin/Kindler will need his own wife Mary to help him elude capture. As Wilson closes in, Kindler's violent past unravels, leading to a deadly confrontation in clock tower.

This was an excellent movie!! The one surprise for me was Lorretta Youngs roll. I mean no offense but this roll could have gone to someone new, a beginner. To me its like she is such a fantastic actress that this role was so overdone I didn't like. Maybe they thought it needed another big star in order to sell at the box office. Am I alone in this or does anyone else see what im trying to say??

Orson had an affair with Maila Nurmi( Vampira) while he was married. She got pregnant and abandoned her so she gave it up for adoption. Poor Maila, sad .
