The Verge will show you how to vomit thermal paste on the CPU

1. Don't do the circle, square, heart of any that creates a connected wall because of potential air pockets (hurts cpu temps)
2. Spreading the paste manually like this does not represent actual pressure from a cooler, which is a lot higher.

Since the actual pressure is a lot higher, you wanna use like 50% or less of the paste shown here.

I personally alternate between the bat symbol or Superman logo. Depending on my mood

"How To Apply Thermal Paste"... proceeds to show 101 ways how not to apply, but somehow skips the best method of spreading a thin layer with a blade...

I put a small dot in the middle. Anything more is just too much. Just a dot the size of a pea. I have done 3 builds that way and no issues. I use arctic thermal paste.

I'm hoping this video is just meant to be humorous. As instruction, it leaves a great deal to be desired.

the circle, or anything that encloses air leaves a potential air bubble.

I still do it how old cpu/motherboard manufacturers used to say how to do it, put some on and spread it out with a credit card

Useful. I liked the heart the best! <rolls eyes> Honestly, really, truly -- useful.

I’m sorry to be this person but just pressing on the plastic is not a accurate test as you could be doing different pressure and uneven pressure why don’t you cut it to shape and then use some old hardware to get even pressure

thermal paste bundled with a mother board and power supply unit I don't need 👍🏽

I didn't know that tubes of thermal paste go bad. I got a brand new tube of the tm30. And it was very watery, clumpy, runny and messy. Now I have to find something else.

best way is 5 dots, like the #5 on dice, gives good, even coverage once heatsink is locked down, that comes from both HP and Dell...
