What an outstanding, courageous direction they have chosen to go with. They've deepened Kratos character, they've opened up the world to new elements, new interactions, new dimensions. They are truly evolving God of War to its ultimate form without ditching out everything that came before. As a long time fan, I couldn't be more excited with this approach. Amazing work Santa Monica

TO THOSE QUESTIONING THE ACTOR:

The developers are using full mocap, the same thing Naughty Dog uses. They found an actor who matches Kratos' size and looks. The guy even sounds like Kratos in the game. They found a good one with this actor.

Kratos is becoming more human by the middle of the game, kid gets killed by gods, Kratos: I bring the destruction of Valhalla

The scene at 9:16 is kinda emotional, Kratos was telling the boy to do it, kill the deer, the boy was hesitant, and then Kratos hold his hands and guide him. After that he just sat back and look at the sky beyond, it was like at that moment he realized, he had taken so many lives it just made him forget his live when he was innocent, when he was still young and free of guilt, I think he saw his past young self in his son and he was trying to reach out and comfort his son as he now have blood on his hands as well. It's kinda like Kratos was feeling a mixed of emotion, guilt, anger, and grief, knowing now maybe, his kid will be walking the same path as him.
