Mine wasn't as crazy but I went to the bathroom on April fools, and i yelled "Mom? I started my period.." and she said she started to freak out only for me to yell "April Fools!!!" Two days later it wasn't April fools no more.

I was at a sleepover, luckily it was my friends mum who saw it and she asked if I wanted to go home, or if I wanted to stay and use a pad, being the stubborn person I am, I stayed and had the best night ever

This was oddly comforting and reliving. Mine started as well when I was 9 and my parents just said I was sick. It was a nightmare

mine came much later- I just turned 15 💀 luckily it was in lockdown though so I was safely at home 😭

I was 10 and I had recently learned about periods and I used the bathroom, got up to wash my hands, looked in the toilet and saw a LOT of blood. I quickly wiped and washed my hands and told my poor dad I had gotten my first period. (He was helping my brother who was crying because he fell down the stairs) and I felt light headed and shakey. A couple days later they made me a small strawberry cake and we ate it together. I love them.

Also I don't know if it's just me or did anyone else become less scared of blood after they got used to their period?

I’m not really good at reacting to things so when I got my period I was like “ oh… there’s blood coming out of where the light Does not shine, mom! I’m dying !”

I really wanted my sister to go swimming with me when I was 7 and she was 14. She kept on saying she couldn’t but I got really upset and kept asking why but she didn’t answer. Eventually she told me she had her period and couldn’t go so I screamed at her because I thought she was making up something ( I mean I was 7😅) but my mom came in and said it was true but they didn’t tell the whole education about it and stuff

I got mine at home, and pretty much knew what to do (my mom taught me like- everything about it that year cus she thought i was gonna get it, as well as how to use the products, she bought those for me and put them in a small part of my closet)
so i just found out, cleaned up, and basically waited until my mom got home and hit her with the "oh yeah also i'm on my period" with a calm expression

I got mine at like 10. I read all these books on self care and looked up things I was curious about on the internet a lot, so I knew what it was. Although, I have social anxiety and I was too nervous to tell my mom, so I just stuffed some toilet paper there and never said a word. Weirdly enough, my period like disappeared after that, it came back a couple months later and did the same thing. Eventually when I started getting it regularly I had to tell my mom.

I was 12 and had known for a while that I’d be getting it soon. My mom gave me these light pads that I wore everyday just in case. I knew I got period during a Passover Seder when I left to use the bathroom. Luckily I didn’t have an embarrassing period story like so many I’ve heard.

Mine was so chill, I got it on the sofa, at home, and on the weekends 😮‍💨
The funniest part I recall looking back, is that I asked my mum, "When does it stop?" and she told me, "Oh, it'll stop in like, a week, " and I thought she meant that it would stop COMPLETELY in a week and I celebrated until she corrected herself and life dawned on me all at once ahaha...

I got mine when I was 12 while my mom was in another country. I called her and she showed me what to do during video call 😂👌
