I Fix the Sig P320

Despite being the cause of multiple accidental discharges, the Sig P320 actually has a really nice trigger. It's been adopted by the US military and a bunch of law enforcement agencies, so it must be pretty good.

LINK TREE:

The story of the P320 begins in the early 2000s when SIG Sauer started looking into developing a new modular handgun. The goal was to create a pistol that could serve multiple roles and could easily adapt to different sizes, calibers, and user preferences.

The big breakthrough came in 2014 when SIG introduced the P320. The P320 retained the modular design of the P250 but featured a striker-fired trigger system, which was more appealing to a wider range of shooters. This change made the pistol more competitive in the civilian and law enforcement markets.

The P320 gained significant attention and adoption when it won the U.S. Army's Modular Handgun System competition. The U.S. Army adopted the P320 as the M17 and M18, replacing the long-serving Beretta M9 as its standard issue sidearm. This contract was a significant milestone for SIG Sauer and the P320.

One of the standout features of the P320 is its modularity. The firearm can be disassembled into key components, including the serialized chassis or "fire control unit." This chassis can be easily swapped between different grip modules, frames, and slide assemblies. This means that users can change the size, caliber, and even the appearance of their P320 without requiring a new background check or firearm purchase.

In 2023, a group of 20 people, including federal agents, police officers, and civilians, filed a lawsuit against SIG Sauer alleging that the P320 is unreasonably dangerous due to its propensity for accidental discharges. The lawsuit is still pending.

It is important to note that the vast majority of accidental discharges with the P320 are believed to have been caused by user error. However, there have been a number of reported cases where the P320 has fired without the trigger being pulled.

SIG Sauer has maintained that the P320 is a safe and reliable firearm. The company has also said that it is working to improve the safety of the P320 and that it is committed to making sure that its customers are satisfied with their firearms.

Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a range. A flat range. A flat range with 9mm rounds on the ground. And 9mm rounds on the ground make me crazy.

On a serious note, somebody should get a pre-recall 320 and test it against a "fixed" one to see what it would take for either to go off

I sucked with handguns, so I finally just started doing USPSA. My life is forever changed. I love my M17 with the X Series grip module. Handguns are dope now.

Aaron Cowan (Sage Dynamics) did drop test with two different eotechs. Loss of zero is a thing with this optic.

It's nice to see SIG catering to the underserved market of people who want HK prices but Kel-tec quality control.

I love the battle ship targets. I buy them at a local gun shop. Definitely a great game to play with your training buddies

I’m patrolling and all I can think of now is “I was crazy once, they locked me up in a rubber room, a rubber room full of rats”

Honestly Admin was like the deadpool of guntubers, now that he's unmasked he's still silly like deadpool just without the mask.
Also i've seen a lot of people who like the P320 and have never had an issue with it, Including my brother who is part of a big metropolitan city SWAT team has greatly enjoyed his and never had a single issue with it. In the end I say it doesn't hurt to have multiple good weapon options.

Sig P320 and an Eotech EFLX: a match made in heaven. Two items clearly in the beta testing phase, but marketed as final products. One may misfire if hit the wrong way, and the other can't hold zero.

Edit: typo

I have the same P320 X-Vtac model and I will say it has grew on me. Especially coming from a M&P 2.0 it’s definitely a nice change every once in a while.

My dept issues the p320 pro, and i wanted to hate it, but it grew on me pretty quick. Done about 2k rds in the last 5 days and not a single malfunction. Kinda hoping it stays that way

The P320 is certainly one of the handguns ever made. When it was newer I was convinced it would be the best thing ever so I got 1. Didn't love it, sold it, got a different one that was all guccied up. Still didn't love it. I got rid of it and got a CZ75 instead. I still have that one.
