easier explanation:
roll the first dice
no matter what the first dice value is, the second dice has exactly one outcome for them to have the difference of three so the probability is 1/6

Sometimes you can use logic as a shortcut when calculating probability.
I imagined any number for the first dice, no matter which number, there is a 1 in 6 chance of the second dice making the difference 3.
With this in mind, I could easily see there was a 1 in 6 chance.
Note:
This line of thinking does not work with any number smaller than 3, as they then would be able to have a 1 in 3 chance of making the difference said number. Example: if the difference is "supposed" to be 2, then the chance of getting a difference of 2 when rolling a 3 would be 1 in 3, but if you rolled a 2 the chance would be 1 on 6 for the second dice.

One I can actually see the solution before he did it. How exciting!

What about a difference of 2 or 1? Or if the difference is 2 given the first dice is even?

Anyway to do this for say an n sided dice?

4-1, 5-2, 6-3
(1, 4)
(4, 1)
(5, 2)
(2, 5
(6, 3)
(3, 6
There are 6 combinations whose difference is 3 out of 36
Probability= 6/36 = 1/6 or 16.66P.C

I have a much complex problem: I have four dices, I roll them and then I add the first result with the second one and the third with the fourth one. What's the probability that the difference is 6?

How i did it:
6×6=36
There are 6 combinations in which it will have a difference of 3 including mirrored
36÷6=6
So its 1/6

One roll of 2 dices
Or
Two rolls when we have one dice?

probability of the MAGNITUDE of their difference

I got it in 10 seconds easy there are 36 combinations and then you think there's a one four two five three six combinations and there are two possible orderings so six out of 36 is a one in six

WHAT DICE?
With d4 it's simply 1/8

Ummm, many problems I see with this. First not all die are 6 sided, second, what difference? Between die 1 and die 2 or between the larger die and smaller die.

Depends on what dice they are... Flawed question

It's not specified what kind of dice. You assume it's d6s, but it could also be d4s, d8s, d10s etc
