the reason why ibuprofen and other NSAIDS work better than Tylenol is because ibuprofen targets the uterine muscle as a whole because it's an anti inflammatory which targets muscle, whereas Tylenol and acetaminophen only target the pain receptors on the uterus, they don't treat the whole muscle. Midol contains acetaminophen which isn't going to target the muscle.

That's how I am in the first 2 days of my period too. The pain makes me want to ball up and cry. I take Aleve and they work beautifully. But I'm going to check out Livia.

Literally called in today because I just started my period yesterday and I can’t function the first two days. I cry from the severe pain, I get extremely nauseous. If I don’t take 600 mg (3 pills) of ibuprofen RIGHT when my cramping starts, I will start to throw up because the pain is so severe. I also get horrible diarrhea at the same time of feeling like throwing up. And if i dont take medicine, i cant use my legs because they get so week from the pain. I also do have pmdd. Starting about, at a max, 5 days before i start, i will get breakouts, and started feeling extremely self conscious about myself, doubting everything, and then a couple of days before its at its worse and I second guess everything, my decisions, what people around me are saying, I take everything super personal and i get high anxiety and usually cry about SOMETHING. My period is super regular too. And is about 5-6 days. I start to feel great on about day 5. The first two days when my cramps are the worse I definitely have strong pmdd symptoms.
I use to be on birth control, and although it helped, i still had bad cramps, but not super unbearable. But it came at a cost of all the side effects of being on birth control.
Look into seed cycling. It seems to really help me and other people. Tenille on youtube has a great video about it. Also, i use maca powder in my smoothies and it is great with hormone balancing. Cutting out all caffeine really helped me too. Ive noticed a difference with all of those things. I use to take evening primrose oil like a decade ago, and i need to get back into that.
Ive been considering getting this product, or just a TENS unit, although i cant wear a TENS unit discreetly.

Fellow intense cramp haver: I spent years doing the 1000mg ibuprofen 4xs a day method of treatment mixed with just skipping classes when I was cramping hard enough that I knew losing consciousness was imminent. I'm mostly commenting to say that that likely lead me down the path of increasing the impacts of iron deficiency, likely because the high doses of pain killers increased my acid issues in my stomach which I took an abundance of antacids for, which come to find out reduce the ability of your stomach lining to absorb iron. It took years to figure out the mystery weight gain and hodge podge symptoms. If you're still using high dosages as one of your lines of defense against cramps, definitely bring it up independently to your docs, so you can set a precedent concern with them before any other symptoms show.

After that, I'm genuinely interested in trying this product, and hearing that it was that good is making me lean towards getting it asap.

I've been noticed a huge change in my period pains once I switched to more natural options: menstrual cup and cloth pads. I guess it's hard to see the effects some of the chemical menstrual products can have until we try other things. These companies profit BILLIONS a year from these disposable products AND the health issues that we get from consuming their products. What are the long term effects of these chemicals? Why aren't these chemicals properly tested before being used for our consumption? We are guinea pigs.... These are questions we need to ask these big companies and question their integrity. Do they make disposable products to improve our health? Or do they do it to make money at the expense of our health which is also profitable...
I know reusable products aren't appealing to everyone but by choosing them we can reduce our consumption and can make a big impact on our waste footprint....

my period would be so bad i would throw up and it was horrible bc i couldn’t stop my life for it. i researched stuff and found magnesium. i started taking magnesium tablets daily and after taking it for 2 months my next period i had no cramps and it had become much lighter. you should definitely try it!!! you can get them basically anywhere (walmart) for about $10. it also comes with other benefits like a faster metabolism and it just being a good mineral(?) to have in your body. but yeah, hope this helps anyone out !!!

This video couldn't have come at a more appropriate time for me!! My recent period has been HORRIBLE; severe anixety for days which led to a depressive episode.
Tbh, my periods have been weird all my life; like yours they're regular, my cramps are bareble but the pms side has always been wild! Vivid dreams, tears out my eyes for no reason, migraines, confusion/dizziness, unable to get my words out and the worst for me is the fatigue! I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat and then sleep for like 16 hours no joke!!
Its been so bad this month I'm considering going to the doctors and seeing what they can do but I'm nervous about starting a pill in case it makes me worse! (I say this bcos my mother could never find a pill to suit her and we're so similar in ailments it's odd)
This comment has been an essay but with a video as relatable as this I just needed to rant!
Thank you for this video; good luck with going to the doctors!! Hope you can wrangle your periods!!♡

You should maybe talk to your gynecologist about endometriosis because that can be a cause of having debilitating period cramps and it can be treated! In terms of dietary things, eating salty foods really makes cramps worse so avoid that for your own sanity if you can

Tiffany, you have described my period to a T! Even the anxiety before my period consistently every month, it makes no sense and is extremely frustrating because like you said I feel 100% after my period. I was diagnosed with PMDD and it sounds like your right in thinking that's what you have. I've found using adaptogen powders to help with anxiety and depression. Also, I have a video on my channel with all the "hacks" I use on my period to help, there's a lot so I don't feel like typing it all out lol. I've wanted to really try the Livia so I might give it a shot!

Midol is a life saver. It takes away ALL of my pain in 15 minutes. Its literally just 500 mg of tylenol, and a lot of caffiene, and some other type of painkiller ive never heard of before taking midol. Buts its AMAZING. Literally i swear by it

I went on the pill because my periods were debilitating. But instead of the first couple of days-it was all of them. And it has helped! Good luck

Starting birth control helped my period cramps so much! My cramps used to be so bad I would get sick from the pain and I they would last for hours at a time. I started birth control a few years ago, and I know it's different for everyone and dependent on the type of pill, but it's helped me sooo much! I don't even have to skip my periods on it, they're so much lighter and I rarely experience any cramps at all. I hope you find a good method for you that helps reduce your pain and PMS!

I've been struggling with this too for so long ! I was skeptical at first, but using respiration techniques really helps me keep the pain bearable now. However, it doesn't work if you're a bit stressed or busy (you need to lay and relax and breathe through the pain), so I might think of purchasing this Livia thing to be able to drive or work normally ;)

So glad you did a video on this! I've struggled with this since I started my period and I just started college and it really gets in the way of my schedule! I recently started going to a chiropractor bc they use a tens unit on me (which is just a bigger more industrial size version of livia) and adjusting my pelvis so I'm hoping that works. Otherwise I'm gonna have to have a laparoscopic surgery to get tested for endometriosis. I'm glad the livia is giving you some relief girl!
