Imposing legislation is one way to handle this type of greed, but allowing Manufacturers to sell directly to the public is the way to go. Put these greedy dealers out of business.

That’s why dealerships are called stealerships.

The sales guy in the thumbnail tried to sell me a car a couple of times from that dealership, and tbh he always very honest and upfront about pricing, and was never pushy at all. Good guy, hope he’s out of that sleazy showroom.

This really isn't limited to a kia dealership. This is currently an industry wide practice. Some dealership are really bad. It doesn't matter the brand.

I went to a Kia dealership in ON and when I asked for the price of the Telluride, they came back with $1000+ monthly payment. I told them I want price not monthly payment they then came with bi-weekly payment and indicating the interest rate. I asked how much. The GM came with a price about $9k above MSRP. I said to him itemize why this is so high and he did. Over $8K was for 2yrs oil change, some mats and Tyre protection. I told them thanks but no thanks and left. I like dealerships that can be upfront during the sales process, if they aren’t with the sale it could be hell to do warranty work.

It's sounds like the public needs to go after the law makers and enforcers! Because if the reason is not enough law enforcement then the people should have the right to enforce it themselves! There is no excuse for bad service or bad behavior!

Kia Canada is 'concerned' Yeah....'we're concerned because we got caught'

Crooks; dealership should be shut down and owner put in jail.

Now when you call them they tell you one price and when you're closing the deal they tell you the final price 😂

The price posted on my vehicle was 14995.00. After financing, it was 30000.00.. nova scotia dealerships need to be investigated

I was charged $800 for addition upgrades to the car and when I asked them to show me what they are on the car, they refunded the money because none of it was done. This was Hyundai.

Not only happening in Canada but here in the USA as well. These dealerships are completely out of control on their pricing and their greed. I will not play their game any longer !

Why can’t we simply go onto Kia‘s website, select the car we want the options we want, and make a purchase right then and there? Why must we go through a dealership? Why is the dealership model still in existence long after the Internet changed the way we shop in every other manner.

Don't forget the -optional- mandatory Kia/Hyundai fire extinguisher! Actually, budget for two.

That's right! Kia dealers are insane about markup adjustment prices.i just gave up trying to buy a Sportage Prestige because they add almost 10k in ridiculous items that supposely are mandatory in the price...instead a got a Subaru Outback limited at much less money.Very happy with my choice.

I worked at that dealership for a day and a half as a detailer. They literally washed their microfibres on the ground and hung them to dry it was embarrassing

Keep naming these dealerships in the media - consumers that care about their money will refuse to spend their money with these crooks.

I really wanted the new Kia Sportage but did not want the dealers package.. I still have the text when the general manager told me to shop somewhere else.. it was a blessing in disguise!!!!

So, should we, as Canadians, sue the dealerships for false advertising or the government bodies responsible for ensuring the 'all-in' price is adhered to? Personally, as a consumer, I feel *both* need a hefty wake-up call. The dealerships for lying and misleading us and the government agency for wasting our tax dollars. 😡😡

When I bought my last car, a Subaru, the process was completely straight forward. I bought the car at the advertised price and when they offered extras, I said no thank you and that was it. Not sure if all Subaru dealerships adhere to the same principles but my experience was good.
