Are you *this close* to making it, or are you just wasting your time? Here’s how to find out.

You may have heard the saying, “quitters never win and winners never quit." WRONG! Today I'm questioning the wisdom behind that saying, while offering up a few key questions to ask yourself when trying to decide whether to throw in the towel or keep on keepin' on!

Who the hell is Chad, and why do we care what he’d do???? Check out @itsviviankaye

Have you ever had trouble knowing when to quit or persevere? How did you make the final decision? Tell me in the comments below!

This resonated with me. For the first time I am enjoying what I do and I think I didn't give up for that reason. In the past I gave up and told myself that it just didn't work, when in reality the reasons were that I didn't enjoy it, it wasn't 'me'. Now that I enjoy my 'work', I feel that I am just having fun all the time. How lucky is that! Great video, thank you Rachel.

I've been doing low content for 1 year and I'm ready to quit and try something else.
It's not fun and I have worked harder on this than anything else in my long life. With hardly any success.
It's disappointing to see so many people making videos saying creating 'low content' books is easy money, it's not.

I will try something else next year starting in January but continue to promote my low content books on social media.

I now realise I love writing. Each of my journals has taken no less than 2 weeks to make and contain a lot of content.
With all the content I add on social media, I could have written a short novel.

Low content is not for me. I need to write fiction stories.

Thanks for this video.

1. Why am I doing what I am doing in the first place?
2. Is what I am doing in alignment with my value and visions for my future?
3. Does what I am doing align with my natural skills and talents?
4. Have I made any measurerable progress?
5. How much time, effort and money am I willing to spend?
6. Give myself a 10-year test?
7. Do I want to keep doring what I am doing (be honest)?

Thanks for this insightful video! I really liked what you said about measuring progress. If, even after trying different things to achieve a goal, one is still not making adequate progress, then it is makes sense to move onto something new. In the KDP context, if one is struggling to earn a certain amount per month even after trying different niches and creating quality products, it is probably a good idea to consider something else. Even worse, if one is losing a lot of money through running ads, then it is time (1) to stop running ads, and to rely solely on organic sales, or (2) to quit working on KDP if making sales without ads is proving to be almost impossible. These are some scenariors that have been running through my mind. Measuring our progress with honesty is the key to figuring out when it is time to quit or persevere.

Such a shame, I just ground to a halt with KDP. One day I just had zero interest or inspiration for the next book and now two months have gone by with no output. I was trying to find something to do from home under lockdown but working on a computer isn’t very enjoyable for me. Thanks for doing a video on this subject.

This is my first month of KDP and this has really ignited a passion for me! I am beyond thrilled with the organic sales I'm seeing come in and I'm just so excited to see what the next 5-10 years have in store.

wow, how timely! I've been really stressing about getting going as I seem to be stuck on the keyword search merry-go-round and it has made me wonder if I am doing the right thing choosing KDP to create an income stream. However, I know that feeling of when it's time to quit, but I don't have it for KDP right now. I also have a design background and love of books and see this as my chance to get creative again through designing. Unfortunately, my down is low self-confidence, negative self-talk can be so irritating! I am sure it's what's currently keeping me on the merry-go-round. It goes for my other business too, it's me, I'm in my way!

Very recently I became more informed about the opportunity of ebooks and was definitely interested in getting more information. Fast-forwarding to now I realize that the ebook platform has been established for several years now so just like on any type of opportunity the time that this platform has been monetized can have a definite effect on your success probability excetera.
Then on YouTube notice several channels offer unsolicited advice.
So stumbling on Rachel Harrison Sund.
I am clearly impressed with her professional YouTube channel. She is generous enough to explain the pros and cons of low content publishing. Rachel Harrison Sunds presents herself very aesthetically. Her pleasant voice go's into great detail of the video topic. With a clean back ground set. I appreciate it because theres lots of video coming from bedroom bathroom. Not appealing. Clearly intentionally & she does it so well.
It totally struck me. Got a clear impression this channel oh yes the author are real good. I really respect her sharing with great honesty. But most importantly, Rachel has confidence period. Business is established enough she has no hesitation teach all aspect. God and bad and very bad. It's up to you to proceed or in business adventures. She is completely correct in framing the topic of quitting. Seriously, there's very little frequency of video authors spending their time creating video on how to stop quit.
Quite the opposite I'll witness to.
It's OK Really.. To QUIT. In a detailed video that lays it out so concise. You never see that!
Rachel is a extremely professional in so many areas.
Sorry, it just personifies the type of respectable person she is. It shines through her presentations. For it's compelling because more interested in helping people. Regardless, of the out come. It's totally respectable. Seeing the level of her experience. Employing her services would be beneficial. Overtime, you would have received considerably more valuable of experience far beyond your original investment. I've said too much.

Good points Rachel! I am fairly new to KDP, more related to these things in general about pursuing something.

Excellent video, it has highlighted some things for me and I know I’m meant to continue with KDP, it’s my low self esteem and self confidence that’s I need to work on.

Thank you so much for your precious information and experience
I’m new follower and soo glad that your videos popped up in front of me
I would love to ask you something
1 Do you hire a ghostwriter to write your fiction and no fiction books or you write them by yourself ?
2. What make you the most money is it the low content book or the fiction and no fiction book?
And thank you again for sharing your knowledge with us and inspire us

Yes, you have to ENJOY what you are doing. How many of us have worked in a sucky job because of a paycheck? After 42 years of that nonsense a wonderful but short-lived business found me, then Covid appeared and my dream business evaporated overnight. But then kdp found me. I am learning a new skill set, doing something that is artistic and creative, and interacting with "bosses" who have longevity like Rebecca Holman, business acumen like Paddy, and relatively new success like the Home Boss herself, Nuria Corbie(?). And who best to teach me about design? Rachel!
I am patient with this process and lengthy learning curve because I am not desperate fir money. Yes, I live off less than $1, 000 Social Security and really miss those unemployment checks, but it will all turn out well because I am enjoying what I do and have fun with it!

I agree that you have to enjoy what you're doing to stay motivated. I wish I found this business last year instead of the biz I tried last year which I did not enjoy and ultimately abandoned.

Thank you for your interesting videos, always bringing a new angle and knowledge. I'm wondering if you could shed the light on the question I've been pondering on - entering the kdp publishing world as an "author" VS as a business (LLC or what have you). I'd appreciated if you shared your opinion on it either as a simple response or even as a video. Would be great! Thanks again!

I quit my PhD.
I quit my corporate life.

I gained sanity.
I gained my own business.

Swings, and roundabouts.
