Thank you. Your observation was extremely fair and well-rounded. I appreciate your heart for specificity and giving great historical context to my arguments about Protestantism. I am taking an honest look into many of the points you brought up here and I'm thankful for the boldness in men like you.

I like how the top comment on his video is saying he converted from Mormonism to Catholicism. Implying Mormons are some sort of protestants

“I don’t think we can evangelize Gen Z with Burger King Christianity!” Whew! Quote of the century, put that on a plaque! Been saying this for years.

I think people are realizing the whole "make our churches seem really secular/trendy so people will show up" is kinda dumb. At least I hope that's what's happening so that they'll stop trying to do that. In my opinion, it displays a lack of faith in God's Word. Faith comes by hearing the Gospel, not by trying to impress unbelievers with cheesy "Christian" rock concerts on Sunday morning!!! Besides, I don't think that strategy is really working anyway these days. (Sorry for the rant)

You've created a false dilemma. You're saying either we have a High Church, Catholic without the Pope style practice or a rock concert and Ted Talk. This is not the entirety of Protestantism. You should know, especially since a lot of Presbyterianism and Puritanism went a Low Church route. There can be genuine and beautiful worship without all the worldly mingling, a commitment to Scripture, and genuine faith without also commitment to overly inellectualized, overly ritualized practice and dead letter. A man in a robe waving incense around isn't a necessary condition for faithful Christianity.

As a catholic, mainline portestants taking on non denoms sounds a lot like us talking about protestantism in the first place.

I attend a non-denominational church. I get the rock concert assessment of the church. The worship time has that feel, but the sermon is not a Ted talk. It is truly a teaching out of the Bible that is designed to challenge the congregation to grow and live out what is taught in the Bible. I think the value in a church is more that it teaches solid Christian doctrine than in the style of worship. I am glad to see your effort to re-take traditional protestant denominations back from liberals and I hope and pray you succeed. Christians everywhere need to read their Bibles and live out what it teaches. We need to pursue truth and the style, whether traditional or modern, is just icing on the cake.

The worst part about this is that many Reformed, Anglican, Lutheran, and even Catholic Churches have adopted this style.

I would also disagree Christianity is not just a religion. It’s a relationship with the living God You could practice endless religion and still be spiritually dead . Yes it’s a religion but that religion is about personal relationship.
We might disagree but your movement is still brilliant and your Loyal to your confessions and I respect that

I'm a Catholic. I hope protestantism doesn't die, and I hope for unity for God's WHOLE church. I think protestantism is very important, even though I choose to be Catholic. I stand with you, protestants.

I’m raised from non denominational church. My faith holds firm today. I still go to my church to this day. They hold concerts and they at times hold what you might consider “TED talks”. Yet they are honest in their faith and loyalty to scripture.

I understand your broad feelings on non denominational churches how some have acted and act, yet it appears at you’re focusing on the appearance of faith rather than the faith itself. Additionally it seems you broadly applying your disdain for them to the point of bearing false witness against them. I pray you are not doing so intentionally.

I checked out a Lutheran church in my neighborhood last week. It was a surreal and incredible experience for me. I'm definitely going back

If someone making a YouTube video is enough to get you to change your church, you were never all that committed in the first place. In that case, by all means find a more traditional church and pour into it. To the rest of us, stay in the church you’ve built up a real connection with and know how blessed you are to have your community.

Like most people, i partially agree. Im not a fan of non dom because we need unity, but i disagree with the focus on aesthetics. What matters is theology and how that theology is applied.

I love how everything you describe wanting is the current Catholic Church lol. Why fight your hierarchy? Just come home to the Church seriously. We need all the strong Christians we can get.

5 years ago I would have said yes. People like you are proving that it isn't dead though. God Bless.

I’ve gone to traditional methodist and Anglican churches yet I chose Catholicism cos I’ve found its teachings compelling
