I wouldn’t touch our Walmart meat with a 10 ft pole. My husband picked up some meat and when he brought it home it smelled rotten. The date was good, so I opened it up. The meat itself didn’t smell, it was on the package. Took it back to the store and got our money back and went over to the meat case. The bottom of it had obviously not been cleaned out in quite a while, you could smell it even before you got to the case. I called the FDA for an inspection, they don’t handle that. Had me call the Department of Agriculture, they sent out an inspector. They fined them and it was clean for a couple of weeks and it went right back to being gross. Apparently they just can’t keep people. Be thankful your little stores meat looks really good and they put it on sale. Not finding many real sales here now.

I find that if I put meat in my freezer just in the store packaging, the meat dried out. I always put my roasts, chicken and pork in freezer bags and I squeeze out as much air as I can before I seal them.

I got some meat on a trade yippee, I'll be pressure canning my meat, I lost our freezer full of berries and 1 Turkey, I was very sad so I taught myself how to pressure can along with a few great you tube videos, and now I never have to worry about loss meat again, plus I'm a water bath canner for the last 28 year's. Great deals on your meat. 😊❤

I use left over for shredded beef tacos, bbq beef sandwiches, burrito bowls, beef veggie soup, a quick chili and shredded beef for a lunch and beef hash for breakfast.

Well, I save the broth I cook a roast in (and the fat). If it's a roast I serve in slices, I can make a sort of hash with leftover roast. If it's more shredded, quesadillas or nachos are good. Also, serve over baked potatoes. Depending on the seasoning, can make it more Asian flavored and serve with rice and veggies like a cheat's stir fry. If it's plainer, can add sour cream and make a sort of stroganoff

Excellent vid as usual💖 If I may offer a suggestion...open all your bags before going onto the meat. More efficient re: time & less clean up mess.

Leftover beef: Chinese hot crispy beef. Small strips coat with cornstarch, fry til browned. Use a sweet sauce like orange and add red pepper flakes. Over rice. Beef taquitos. Hubby loves Mexican.

One thing i love to make with pork butt is a crock pot Mojo pork. 2 lbs cut into chunks, in with orange, lemon and lime juice, smoked paprika and a few other things. Served on cuban rice. Big hit.

My favorite thing to do with leftover roast is to shred it finely and put it in my cast iron skillet. I make a quick homemade sauce using ketchup and vinegar and spices. Then you can put it on bread for barbecue beef sandwiches! My kids love it. They normally eat that better than they do plain roast with gravy.

I got three pork loins like that, I cut one into 15 one inch pork chops and cut the others into thirds. There are two of us and that lasted almost 6 months.

I'm always checking the sales! They tend to have patterns with whats on sale, every 6 weeks or so the same things come back around so I make sure I get enough to last thru a sale cycle or two. My last buy was boneless skinless chicken breast for $1.88 a pound :)

Wow, 6:00 a.m. grocery shopping - that is serious dedication to getting the deals!!! 🏆 Love seeing your calculations on the cost for each dinner. I'm analytical by nature, so that is interesting to me, especially with today's crazy prices.

Ridley's! My daughter lives in Kuna, Idaho and that was the first grocery store in the town. Now they have an Albertsons as well. I enjoy going to that smaller grocery store when I visit them.
