My dad taught me the same thing. Funny story though. He called me once (when I was married to my first wife) and asked if we liked Tunafish. I said that my wife did. Little did I know that Kroger in Toledo had it on sale $0.19/can when it was usually $1.09. They were marketing the whole tuna noodle casserole thing.) The next time he came to visit he had two brown grocery bags of cans of tuna fish. I think it was like 40 cans, enough to last 20 years. Lol.

I am a young mom, learning to shop like this! ❤ one day I’ll be crushing it! 😝

That Italian sausage deal?! Wow!! I personally used to buy bulk, coupon everything and watch sales cycles but since the kids moved out and we travel fulltime in a little camper now, I've had to change things up. Now I cook fresh often for saving and health, freeze what I can fit in my tiny freezer, shop clearance and chase Aldi's when we're near one combined with Dollar Tree and Dollar General and supplement with clearance canned food. We save a ton, eat only two meals a day, live frugally and have lost weight!😊

My family's Broccoli Slaw: One bag of b-slaw, a bunch of dried cranberries, a bunch of sliced almonds, Marzetti's Slaw Dressing to taste. WE LOVE IT!

I was taught to shop sales and stock up. And I learned clearance shopping from you. I showed my husband clearance shopping at Smith's and if he is ever there by himself he checks the clearances. I love having a lower grocery bill so we can spend that money in more fun ways.

When you are at Costco, ask the clothing workers what tables are the "clearance" tables for men and women. When the quantity of an item gets low, that item gets moved to a certain table. If items do not sell well, they go to that table so we can get rid of them. Some days you will luck up and find really great deals on clothing if you keep checking those tables.

This is how I shopped for many a moon. When the family all lived at home, people did not believe me when they heard what I spent. I'm now 74, hubby has passed and my sister lives with me. We do even better because we do lighter meals most of the time. I still buy and stock my freezer and pantry. We usually only get to a store maybe once a month for major stuff and maybe once a month for bread and milk. I've just found your channel through Dawn. The one thing I did do way back when was only buy when food was on sale. I knew almost to the day when something went on sale, I stocked up and it would last until the next time it went on sale. I don't think I ever paid full price for my staples etc. It can be done and is well worth the effort.

The “when you buy 5 or more” isn’t limited to just one item. So you can buy 5 different things as long as they’re all part of the “buy 5” promo. So if you didn’t need 5 bags of tortillas, you can find something else in the promo to make the 5.
I love Fred Meyer and their sales and markdowns! It’s where we buy cheese when it’s 1.49/pack and that sale rotates constantly!

I’ve always shopped this way. Funniest one ever—Target had big boxes of tampons for 99¢. I was still in school and with my mom and sister we definitely needed them. Bought 30 boxes!!

I'm in NS, Canada so Sobeys is my go-to store. The employees have gotten use to my "clearance scans" and joke that I'm there to clean the store for them. Just yesterday the organic GF bread was on sale for $1.99 so I picked up 4 loaves for myself and then tracked down a stranger in the store because I had earlier, overheard him talking about celiac-friendly shopping being too expensive. He bought 6 loaves for his family.

Brings me back to when Dad used to get whatever meat he could on clearance or with coupons at a normal grocery store. But he'd also buy large chunks of meat at Cash and Carry, now I think its named the Chef Store, then cut them into steaks, roasts ect and wrap them in freezer paper. Saved a lot that way. I actually got myself a $40 brisket that came to $3/lb just a couple weeks ago and cut it into pieces for tacos, Korean BBQ, American BBQ, Brisket Chili, Brisket Ragu.... Check out your local restaurant supply stores.. . Get dish soap by the gallon or a pack of fifty rolls of tp or a whole huge stack of paper plates without needing to buy a membership =P

You are the only budget friendly videos that are actually realistic and have true low prices. So often these kind of videos are not showing good deals at all imo. 😂 Thanks for all the tips i can actually use!

I live in UK, but ever since I saw one of your videos (years ago) I started buying yellow labels food (the discounted food). And it made so much difference in my budget. It also completely changed the way I cook. I even meal plan now. So huge thanks to you, girlfriend!

I'm 60 and I will tell you you have taught me the best tips on saving money. I just explained to my sister about shopping the perimeter of the store. Thank you.

I told my kids we were only going shopping once in June unless we needed something small! And we did! We have only gone once and we went on a Saturday morning to krogers and there were so many deals on meat we didn't even go out of town! We have stir fry kits at my store and those go on clearance a lot! And I love them so it helps! And you can freeze them and they work great! I have a whole stir fry in our freezer right now just waiting on my boys to come home!

One thing I've done for years is: when hamburger goes on sale, I buy a lot and cook it up with chopped onions. No seasonings. Freeze it in quart bags. Takes less space than uncooked meat, thaws quickly for fast meals, like spaghetti and Mexican pizzas, etc.

Girl I love this! I shop at the local Kroger, yesterday I got eggs for .30 cents a dozen!! I was so excited, I forgot the bread. Went back this afternoon and I got 11 packages of protein, for about $3.30 a pack!Sweet!! 🎉❤❤

For Fred Meyer / Kroger you don't have to buy 5 of the same item most of the time. There's usually a list of various items and you can mix and match the 5 items.

I like when I can find reduced price meats at aldi. Since their prices are already so low, if you get them at 50% off it’s amazing! I stocked up on chicken thighs the last time we were there, I got 4 packs and all of them were 50% off!
