These invisable chests are the inventorys of every shop keeper in skyrim. In other words there is one hidden chest for each shop keeper in the game. =3

The items in this chest may vary. It gives you the items that you would have for your level. It regenerates every 14 (real) hours.

Actually this is a NPC dropoff point origanally put in the game for when quest characters that arent needed in the game anymore, all their inventory goes to this chest, It refills faster as you proceed through quests. I would suggest completing a ton of sidequests then checking this. I checked the chest before i fought Alduin and it really helped with that.

SO I figured out what this chest is! The first time I came to Dawnstar there was a Kajit merchant. This was his EXACT inventory fishing maps was what tipped me off. Thanks for the free loot!

the chest is from the caravan vender just outside the city, if u loot the chest, wait 48 hours and speak to the cat at the caravan sight, all the stuff will replenish in the chest.

This is why Arvak is best horse, since you can summon him pretty much anywhere (except places you can't normally have horses, like inside Whiterun). Makes fast traveling while overburdened much easier when you have a horse on-demand.

@BlackLeafSkate You can easily get elven armour, though you won't be able to get the weapons this way since the Thalmor are magical bastards. Go up to the Grey-Mare elder women who sells jewellery and ask her about her son, then go on the quest and you will find out he's imprisoned in a Thalmor place, most of the Elves have a full set of elven armour.

It works on xbox just make sure that the cat trading caravan is in town where u first walk in and the chest on xbox is directly behind the rock!

It's a chest where the game puts Vendors stuff inside. That's one of those Kahjiit Caravan's chest.

@Zelgarin There's a glitch where you can "get under" the skyforge. And you'll find the chest with a bunch of stuff in it. Kinda like this.

@harleyplummer a patch costs 15 grand. And they're like tons of glitches in this game from the size. They don't care enough to fix it.

You have to crouch down and go slowly.
Being told the damn thing is invisible helps.
My mate just said there was a chest hidden there. He 'forgot' to mention it was invisible!!!

@Ronnie0088 she is just outside Dawnstar, you have to wait a couple of hours for her to appear, save your game, kill her and then load the save file talk to her and ask here what is for sale, exit out and go back to the chest, rinse and repeat.

It's like the "DO NOT DELETE" Chest. Bethesda hide chest under tings to make their actual shop. All shopkeepers has something under them to keep them away from player, but obviously some has been forgotten. There's plenty of thread about this. :D

looting this chest can be one of the main causes of the mining bug which will cause you to walk straight through any replenished mines and not be able to mine them, thumbs up so people can see.
