Skyrim - Dawnstar Invisible Chest With Lots of Free Items

The "Gold (500)" seems to be a dead giveaway that this is a merchant chest... I thought those were mostly put under the terrain, where there's no risk of this happening?

I think it's the vendor stash for Ahkari, the Khajiit caravan trader that wanders between Dawnstar and Riften. I read on another forum or something that the developers usually place the vendor's stash underneath their shop location on the map (somewhere unreachable by the player). Since these caravans wander and are not in a fixed location, they had to put the chest somewhere (preferably unreachable by the player) and probably mistyped the coordinates or something.

Guys, if you want the items to respawn (they will be different), just look at the khajit caravans trader inventory and wait 48 hours. He should be at the entrance of Riften, Dawnstar or by the Windhelm stables!

@ilikebuljobetter It's actually the inventory of the Kahjiit Caravan that comes to Dawnstar every week for 3 days.

@TheHaloart - has nothing to do with this. it keeps the inventory of traveling merchants. the chest is there if you run to dawnstar at level one.

Almost 11 years later, and these hidden chests are so useful in the early game. Now, I always run to Solitude, Markarth, and Dawnstar for their hidden chests before going into Whiterun, immediately banking right and jumping on a barrel and out of the city walls to get to the chest hidden under the Skyforge.

its the Kahjeet Caravan stuff, the things they sell. Eourland Graymane's is accessible too, but i believed his was patched. i didn't see why Skyrim didn't patch this one

It's legit. I just started a new game and went straight there. Was full with tons of useful stuff, especially for a new game.

I love that Devs did these mystery chests with bonus loot like. It's not needed but if you ever don't feel like wasting a couple thousand on some upgrade materials or companion armor, just search these! They respawn in due time too. Truly lovely.

@TheFishingAddiction the game creators said themselves they arent patching this or other easter eggs/glitches they found. they are trusting that people will do these after the main storyline. also, they said it was pointless to take the time to make a patch when theres no advantage due to the fact the game has no multiplayer

Go to the khajit camp right outside dawnstar...wait 48 hours, then open the traders stall, violia the chests contents are new and restocked. Surprised no one commented this yet

@treo9999 To test/confirm this, just craft something unique at a forge (give it a unique name) and sell it to Ahkari....then go straight to this invisible chest to see if it shows up. I think it resets its contents every 10 in-game days.

The easiest way to tell it's not fake, it's on a console and not on a pc. A pc allows really quick modding, however consoles don't (unless you are super awesome like that) so, if you don't see a cursor, or if you can just tell the difference in graphics (I know I can) you can tell if it's 100% real, or perhaps not (not saying all pc recorders mod)
