As someone working at a cinema, honestly I don’t care if you bring your own snacks, just be decent enough to throw the trash away afterwards! Swiping up popcorn is one thing, cleaning up spilled fast food and sticky wrappers from seat crevices is another thing (and a special Screw You to the people who brought sushi and left half the box under a seat 🫠)

This has got to be a mostly worldwide thing. I absolutely love this channel .

In the Netherlands, at least in our local cinema, we can bring whatever we want. Just don't make a mess and throw out any wrappers or other trash. You can hand in empty plastic bottles and cans to donate the few cents of 'statiegeld' (a small fee that you pay extra when buying drinks in cans or bottles, but you can get back if you return the bottles to the store) the cinema collects the bottles and cans, and donate the 'statiegeld' to a good cause. But being Dutch, a lot of people will keep them and still return the bottles for the fee. Its a whole thing over here. My nephews are actually collecting and sorting out empty cans for my brothers business. He just brings entire bags full of them and they get to earn some cash with sorting them and returning them to the store. (Its about 15 cents per can, with the amount they get its a nice way to earn some extra cash)

In Brazil, cinemas cannot prohibit entry with food. You cannot be forced to buy cinema food, because the cinema's main activity is showing the film and not selling food. If the cinema forces you to buy their food, Brazilian law calls this “tie-in/combinade sale”, which is illegal.

It's an Australian 🇦🇺 thing too. Snacks are 10 times the price than Aldi or any supermarket. I always carry a large handbag. 😃

In Finland, before the 2020, we didn't have to hide our snacks. There was forbidden signs for outside food in the theater, but nobody cared about checking what people bring in.

But nowadays you can just claim allergies or food restrictions, because in those cases your own snacks are allowed.

You won’t jaywalk. But you will smuggle!😂😂😂😂

In India after you cross metal detectors they actually tap and check the pockets for any plastic sound or snacks. Cost of 🍿 inside is more than the movie ticket itself.

When i was in China people have the habit of buying food outside the cinema as well. The difference is that the Chinese cinemas allow you to bring them in 😀

I love that this is the same in every country!
Once my husband snuck in a mini Caesar salad into a movie, added the dressing, put the lid back on the container, and then forgot where we were & did what he usually does at home to mix the salad…shook it like a maraca.

It was so freaking loud. I was dying trying to hold in my laughter & not give away that it came from our seats😂
