Love the one about "when a German says they have a little bit of English" it means that "they speak English better than you do." I have definitely experienced this when traveling overseas! Old joke: If you speak three languages, you are triligual. If you speak two languages, you are biligual. If you speak one language, you are an American. :)

Ah yes, rules and regulations. As a German, when I first watched the sketch, it made me laugh because it made me think of all the older narrow-minded people I knew, the type to criticise you for trimming your hedge on a Sunday. Then I found myself standing at a pedestrian crossing waiting for the light to turn green... at 10pm... no cars in sight. Made me appreciate the sketch even more.

This reminds me of a series Becks ads in the late 90s. It showed a German comedian taking the stage at a night club.
