My mom is German and she once asked me at breakfast time: "how can you be hungry already? you ate yesterday."

My Oma, who is peak german. Instead of saying put on sunscreen or something like that, would say "dont forget to cream yourselves". In a very german accent. I just wanted that out on the internet.

This reminds me of my niece's German grandma. She was honest and forthright to a fault. She really dug in too. When I got divorced, she told me no man would want me because I had kids. I've been with my current husband for 15yrs now. 😂

I have a German stepmother- since I was 10, 42 now. In all the years I've known her, she has been the most honest person ever. 😂 She's also my biggest role model, but she is nuts. She used to come to my school and eat lunch with me and roast almost every kid there - in the most constructive manner.

Hysterical...totally my parents...zero filter. I spent my teenage years saying "shhh! other people will hear you" and pretending I'm not with them. Especially the water floating with toes peeking out. Dad was a polar bear. Loved the Ice cold water. Threw me in it constantly with "Its good for you. Circulation flowing"...ya, jumping out as fast as possible...
