After conducting some research, I found out that "The Long Walk" is in fact only 2.65 miles (4.26 kilometers) long. Being born in Germany, I can attest that this is actually a rather short distance. Just a week ago, I walked a round trip of 6 kilometers to a pizzeria that doesn't have a phone, just to lodge a complaint and pick up the drink they missed in my delivery.

the one with the stoplight amused me greatly bc one time my mom and i went to dublin (we're austrian) and we noticed we were the only ones waiting at the stoplights. at one point a group of girls came and stood next to us and waited and i overheard one of the girls say in austrian "you can really tell who the tourists are here because they're the only ones who stop to wait"
