OMG, that's it. My elderly parents have a Roku .. they watch OTA channels nearly exclusively, yet .. they've disappeared. I failed to figure out what you did. This pisses me off immensely. FIX IT, ROKU.

Great job getting straight to the point and explaining everything I need to know in 2 minutes, Tyler. Most YouTubers make their simple videos overwhelmingly long and fill them with rambling and random sponsorships, whereas you didn't even bother and brought the entire important message across to your audience without causing them to waste significant time of their day. Extreme respect.

This video is right on time! I'm putting up an antenna for my neighbor next weekend and she has a Roku TV. This probably saved me a lot of time and frustration.

This is how mine is setup. (TCL Roku TV) - Settings > TV inputs > Antenna TV > Manage channels > check Hide streaming channels. The only channels I see for Antenna TV (which I think I chose as a name instead of Live TV) are antenna channels. I select Roku channel app for those “live” channels. PS Go THON!

Your absolutely correct Antenna Man. This happened to me some months ago when ROKU sent an update to my TLC and Phillips TVs in our bedrooms. I figured out exactly what you told us to do in this video. ROKU's just playing games with us 'cause it never was like this when I first purchased these TVs.

I am so glad this is finally getting attention. I have an onn roku but cannot achieve a reception of our local CBS station.

Now I know it's the Roku TV giving my mom problems in getting local channels.

Thanks for the info. 😁

Seriously one of the most informative channels on youtube. Thank you again Tyler!

I do agree about this. For first-time users, the setup for these Roku TVs is convoluted, unless the person has the instruction manual on hand or knows what they're doing...
I also also agree that Roku should stop confusing the cordcutters...

I too have noticed once you change channels from a local antenna to a roku streaming channel, the guide changes and hides the local ones again...

THANK YOU ANTENNA MAN! This has been making us crazy for a year at least! My husband kept trying to get me to pay for a dish again! I finally found your video and marked all of our local channels as Favorites after I got those things to show up with your perfect video!! You are awesome!

Tyler has to be one of the most informative lovable nerdy YouTubers 😅

I had to go to settings and select HIDE STREAMING SERVICES and then RE-START the TV for antenna channels to be found. Like the line from Tom Petty's Last DJ album...." all the boys upstairs want to see, is how much you'll pay for what you used to get for free...".

I wonder if it could be a software bug. Yep, I hear you saying 'fix it'. I've seen other quirks. Love this channel, Antenna Man!

Great video to bring awareness to this issue. The inconsistency is MADDENING.

I have a Roku TV (2 of the buggers) and noticed this as well. However, I don't go to the swankier "Live TV" section since the 'Live TV' video source is *right there.*
The Live TV section mainly promotes the live/linear OTT listings of The Roku Channel, whilst the video source under 'home' lists everything from the coaxial source you scanned in *and* Roku's listings.
It is one of the sections that can be turned off in 'system settings' as well.

OMG. Thank you. I thought I was going crazy several times. I mean, I probably am but this ROKU problem didn't help any! 😆 I seriously, could never figure it out ... now I know there are two LIVE tv selections that give different results.

This type of content is why I love Antenna Man so much. Thank you for doing the research most of us no longer have time to do. You're concise and honest. That's rare in this landscape these days.

Yes, Roku is pushing streaming. But found easy way to get/find them.
Use voice function on remote.
Just say "channel 5" or whatever channel you want.
It pops on! Then the Channel Guide will show the OTA channels.

Thank you, I kept trying to find the 32 channels I scanned (before I hid the "streaming roku channels") for live tv.

And then I finally hid those and now i see the the scanned channels from my old antenna.
