It could be that some of the people who drink less coffee do so because it causes arrhythmia. That's why I stopped drinking coffee - every time I did, my heart went haywire. That's the problem with observational studies. All this study, despite being huge, really tells us is that people who tolerate coffee better also drink more of it.

Since i stopped drinking coffee my heart condition got better. I'm not risking my heart again for a coffee coz i wanted to live longer.

I was addicted to caffeine, both coffee and energy drinks. My doctor told me to quit caffeine because it would eventually stop my heart. As a teenager i never took my doctor seriously when he told me that, my heart is weak. And I should’ve listened, one day I drank too much caffeine. And I had acute cardiac arrest ( failure ) and my heart stopped due to the caffeine, i suffered with anxiety, delayed hearing, speech and vision, as well as severe heart palpitations. my heart had literally stopped. i had to detox with water. my heart is still suffering because of that. i almost died which was scary as a teenager. now i listen to my doctor, i avoid caffeine because I don’t want my heart to stop again. it’s not worth it.

I don't usually have problems with coffee, but since I got a heart injury from running too much I'm pretty sure drinking it makes the problem worse.

Ï have extremely strong correlation with coffee and heart sensations. It is very scary. If I drink as much coffee as I like (which is very much) there will be serious effects which immediately goes away after two days without any coffee. The sensation is like starting to have epileptic seizure with irregular heart palpitation. So I recommend you to try quit it if you have those sensations because they will go away. If not then you are just lucky to live with coffee.

Even though I only drank one cup of coffee in the morning, my heart races on and off all day. It was going on several years, and it got worse at night time. My doctor did not explain nor offer solutions. I did research, and I stopped drinking coffee and wine. Finally, there is no more palpitation. Magnesium deficiency also contributes palpitation.
