per Essential staff in the subreddiit. the security update is actually august. they were just too exited when they pushed out PIE and missed updating the security patch version name to august.

That option wasn't there before and unless I missed something, there is no longer an option to go full screen on movies and games. They dropped the ball on that. Why do I need a fancy notch?

It's the only device supporting three China ISP, I am a Chinese, so I use it, it values about 300 dollars when I bought it.Very satisfying experience, Thx Andy Rubin and I wish his company rebirth again.谢谢

This update messed with my screen brightness. Now if I'm outside I have to go 100 percent to see. Didn't have to do this before.

Why can't I get the update I have the phone. Is it a Sprint thing because I saw that in the comments.

I love my Essential. It's crazy this phone didn't sell well. The biggest criticism aside it's initial price point was the camera and they've totally fixed that through updates. My wife has a Pixel 2 and this phone takes pictures just as good but I have a better display to body ratio and a 360 camera.

I wish I the Digital Wellbeing app was available on my Essential. I got the beta invite but can't download this app. It says I don't have a compatible device when I go into Play store

No more notch settings in android 9, that settings where You are full screen

Why won't they update the camera software ? Do you think the camera will ever be as good as the Samsung S8 ?
