$10 for a week? EXTREME Budget Grocery Challenge! (vegan)

Показать описание
Going vegan is expensive, right? This week I challenged myself to an extreme grocery budget challenge where I only spent $40 on groceries for my family of 4. That means each person had to survive on $10 worth of food for all their main meals for a week (less than $.50/meal). Links to the recipes for each meal can be found below ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️

Also, if you're super observant, you'll notice I say tofu is $2.50 at the very beginning of the video and $0.50 later in the video. The $2.50 was a typo and it's really $0.50 per block here! Crazy!

.50cent tofu. I'm so jealous! I just paid 3.20....at the discount store. 😭

I'm in the US and I find that we can get the best price on rice and dried beans/lentils at Asian grocery stores. We especially like the Indian grocery for beans and lentils because they have varieties we can't find elsewhere. The bulk packs there are even cheaper per pound than stores with bulk bins near us.

Dear Faith, I've been loving your recipes so far, but mostly I really enjoy how clever, realistic and tolerant you are. You really show that plant based is for everybody, and can be great for families and young kids. Thank you for all your great content!

Again, your book is awesome! I’ve made lots of things from it and have NO cravings for my usual weekly burger and fries😀! Great recipes and very reasonable ingredients too! Keep ‘em coming!❤️

Faith, I found you a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with your character and channel. I bought your book and hav been binge watching your videos. I've made a number of your recipes and all of them have been a hit. I especially love your energy bites and tahini brownies! I live in Australia so things are a LOT more expensive here than anywhere else (especially in Sydney), but these tips still apply for us too! Thank you for all your content, it's really helped make plant based eating so easy and delicious!! xoxo

I really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing 🥰 I'm in Australia and prices are getting ridiculous. I meal plan and meal prep where I can, buy in bulk chickpeas, oats, nuts etc. It's taken a while to build up my pantry staples, buying in bulk just one or two things a month over the past year but so worth it.

It was a big investment up front, but worth it.... 20 years ago, we bought a wheat grinder (it does all grains) and a Bosch. These two quality items have saved me thousands and thousands of dollars. Not only for feeding our family, but our friends and family ask us to make them homemade whole wheat bread instead of buying them a gifts.

For our young poor family, we decided that instead of going out to dinner or movie on date night, we would go on walks together (sounds lame, I know). After we saved the money, I got the appliances for Mothers Day.

I believe that your groceries would cost me double what you spent, but it still would be cheaper than a lot of other shopping lists. Thanks for the suggestions.

This was such a great video! I especially liked how you showcased several different ways to prepare and serve oats for breakfast. I always forget about oatmeal pancakes and those are great! The creamy chickpea and rice soup looks absolutely delicious. Thanks for showing all the steps, from grocery shopping to meal preparation, to the leftovers that you all ate for lunch.

This was awesome! It's good to see that your prices are so reasonable in Malaysia. In Canada I would have to spend 4x the price of those items in your grocery haul. A block of tofu here is $3.49! Ha! but it's like you said - I also feel fortunate that I can afford to buy what I need and want.

A great video, especially the final comments about having to put more time in. It's convenience foods that cost the most!

Wow it all looks amazing. So interesting to see prices. Your groceries are almost half the price more most things than they are in Canada.
