Barcelona is facing a dire situation as storms, which already devastated eastern Spain last week, have now unleashed a new wave of torrential rains upon the city. What began as a heavy downpour has quickly escalated into one of the most severe weather crises the region has seen in years.

The channel lists such natural disasters as:
1) Geological emergencies: Earthquake, Volcanic eruption, Mud, Landslide, Avalanche;
2) Hydrological emergencies: Flood, Tsunami, Limnological disaster,
3) Fires: Forest fire, Peat fire;
4) Meteorological emergencies: Tornado, Cyclone, Blizzard, Hail, Drought, Tornado, Hail, Hurricane, Tsunami, Storm, Thunderstorm, Tempest.

Maybe the flooding wouldn't be so bad if the European Union told Spain to get rid of over 300 dams, so that rivers can flow more freely.. the rivers were not maintained. The EU from Brussels has made many European countries remove the vital dams. In Luxembourg there are many houses being built on marsh lands and given time, these houses will flood and the insurances will be null and void because of the perpetual flooding. Don't the people in charge ever learn??? Short answer.. NO!

The flooding catastrophe is in Valencia. There is not a catastrophic situation in Barcelona. But just rain.

It is a blessing to finally have rain in Catalonia. It was a very hot dry summer. Level of storage water in most of all reservoir (19) in Catalonia Region were less than 30%. It will need to rain a lot in order to fill well all the reservoir.
