Use ghee it won’t burn as fast as butter and it’s just butter that has been clarified.

Please please please everyone, make sure you add stock to that water! Chicken is best. If you're having a heart attack you kight as well have more umami with it.

Mix your butter with vegetables oil so it won’t burn, and use chicken stock instead of water. This recipe gets so much better

We use the same method for pan fried dumplings, but without so much butter.

I think this is best rendition of the recipe.

I’m afraid to ask, but how long does this process usually take to get a good golden crispy edge? Roasting home fries cut into really small wedges in the oven from a semi-firm-boiled potato takes me 20-40 depending on the size, moisture, and oven temp, I expect fondant potatoes will require at least an hour from start to finish, but if someone wants to tell me that it’s only like 15m per side, I will be so happy

Tbh they look lovely and everything, but they just seem like your standard Sunday dinner roast potatoes with extra faffing about.

I mean it's got the exact same seasoning as I use week in week out for them (I am obviously not referring to the sour cream here) and the only real thing that I see different is that you are in essence parboiling them in the same pan as you later roast them in.

So yeah, while I don't doubt it that theyre delicious, that's only because I have been making virtually the same thing every week for over twenty years lol.

I’ll have to take your word for it, because I’ve never had them. I do think that’s something my husband and I will have to try soon, though!
