Well it's not the same as donating a whole body but I did donate the placenta after giving birth to my daughter. I gave birth in a university hospital and I just asked if it was possible to donate it to science, and they told about a research on stem cells in the umbilical cord. I never found out if my contribution made any difference. But it's still kind of cool to think about it.

Another place for donated bodies are "body farms." They study decomposing bodies in different situations. I hear, for the more macabre among you, they even give tours.
