I play Pokemon Go as a hobby with my girlfriend. I downloaded the game again back in March and she saw me checking it out. I started explaining to her out it works and she wanted to try it. She didn't grow up with Pokemon so it's really fun for me to see her reaction to Pokemon she hasn't seen before or. Also it's fun trying to get hundos or shinies of our favorite Pokemon. We've only been playing together since April and she has alot of hundos she really likes and nice shinies, so I feel like it kinda fuels us to keep going, as we know what we want is obtainable. Community Days are huge for us as well. Even if it's a Com Day we don't care about, we have a competion to see who can catch the most shinies. Whoever got more shinies gets a point for that day. So far it's 3-3 for the year. I won Bagon, Cynaquil and Beldum. She won Bellsprout, Goomy and Bounsweet. She couldn't play Tynamo Com Day so we voided it. Sorry for the yapping fellas. Even if you have been playing for years, there is ways to breathe life back into this game for yourself. Honestly, I feel bad for the solo players because I couldn't imagine trying to have fun playing this game alone.

We used to only have 2 gyms and 2 stops in our small town, then I hit lvl 37, and all of us 3 local players banded together. So far I have gotten 18 more stops added, and 5 gyms 😎

Best advice with this game is to lower your expectations...

"Don't play solo"

Me sitting over here 4 years in a rural player and have never met another player or gone to an event. 🥺

But hey, I've got a 4 year old and a 3 month old, and I only work weekends. I'd love to make friends, but I have to commute with two kids to do it 🤷🏼‍♀️ I still have fun, though! Which is ultimately the goal! ❤

having an alt that can be run on a second phone while being hotspotted is probably the best way to play as a solo - makes a ton of content accessible

I tell people all the time, this game is about patience and persistence. There are very few shortcuts to get better or get more stuff. And remembering that, along with finding a good pace and figuring out a few goals, eases some of the burnout. It is a life-long game, but one that feeds on your sense of FOMO and all the dopamine hits. Preparing yourself for that is so important.

Also 100% agree about finding or creating a community. You can be as social or not as you want, but you reach a point when playing alone just isn't going to get you very far. (I did, and 6 months later I now have a whole new social group!)

My opinion in “beating the game” is getting 1 of every shiny and every 100% so optimistic speaking there is never a moment that there is nothing to do

These yap videos are fun to listen to in the background while playing or while driving. And i like how natural you are and kinda speaking your mind, and sometimes getting sidetracked and talking about random stuff or what's happening around you.

I hope you keep it up. Thanks.

Loving the authenticity! Feels refreshing just hearing the real core advice for players instead of endless min-maxing strats for specific events (which are helpful but can lead people to overlook the core goals of the game)

"When you lose something you gain something"

Playing Pokemon Go with communities has always been a major motivator for me! I originally played back in 2016, and loved that everyone in my small town was playing. I fell off a few months after playing, and only got back into it last June, on Axew community day. Since then, I've met so many lovely people from all over the world! As you mentioned, I feel burn out during the winter months, but that's typically due to the lack of events paired with the dangerous road conditions. All in all, it's been such a joy to get back into this past year and I'm excited for years to come!

Since day 1, Pokemon Go has been a great reason to get out, explore, meet up with strangers and see the world in another light. Remember that, everything else is second, collecting, pvp rank, achievements, etc, all second to those experiences.

The community aspect of pokemon go is amazing. I cannot emphasize how many wonderful people I've met and outside my age group (i.e. older gens) that are just the nicest ppl.

I dont mind powering up anything 91% or better because the only time that really matters is if you are trying to do a raid by yourself. If you have 4 or 5 people in the raid, you'll be fine with just about anything.

But with that in mind, i probably won't max out level 50 something unless its 96% or better.

Game is about stardust and pokecoins from gyms.
