Love the video. Interesting I ran my best 10K at 47 yrs old. 7:32 pace. But in training I struggled to push past 30 miles per week volume. Hopping this yr I can work smarter to get a bit better weekly volume. My long runs were 13 miles back then.

I'm so close. I did a 10k the other day 14th of April. I'm hitting 34 miles a week but I have a very physical job. I used the 10k as a training session;3x3k at a sub predicted 10k race pace with 2 and half minutes recovery. Finished it in 50:22. I did slow down in the last 2k. I have 18 days left now until my targeted race. What else can i do. Do I have time to do a time trial with negative split?

There is a YouTuber called Durianrider who claims that he ran a 2:48 marathon on only running 10 miles per week of training. He further states that 10 miles per week is all you need to do to run a sub-three hour marathon if you eat a healthy vegan diet. I am curious to know what you think of that level of training?

40 to 60 miles per week just to run 49 mins for a 10k? Are you referring to over-weight people. I have ran under 45 mins for 10k by just running 10 kms three times per week. On 50 miles (80 kms) of running per week I would definitely be sub 40 mins; even sub 37 mins.
