Which is a better method of delivering a child normal delivery or cesarean section
Both have their own pros and cons
Advantages of normal delivery
Natural method the best thing
hospital stay lesser
pain after delivery lesser
no scar in abdomen
less bleeding than caesarean
breast feeding easy to start can be started earlier
pulmonary complications in new born are lesser
complications in future pregnancies like low lying placenta,rupture uterus are lesser
Disadvantages of normal delivery
Unpredictable
More pain during delivery procedure
urine incontinence or stool incontinence may occur
In long run uterine prolapse may develop
If it is a difficult delivery or prolonged labour chances of foetal hypoxia are there
Advantages of Caesarean section
Can be planned
During the process of baby coming out of womb no pain
No risk of foetal hypoxia during birth
No problems like urine or stool incontinence
Chances of developing uterine prolapse lesser
Disadvantages of Caesarean section
More bleeding
Scar in the abdomen
Longer hospital stay
Takes time in establishment of breast feeding
Chances of pulmonary complications in newborn are more
