Breathing with a relaxed belly has been a gamechanger for me. For years I've had the habit of walking around with tensed abs. Now I'm breathing properly the difference in how I feel is crazy. Now I feel totally relaxed and peaceful. So if you are someone who has social anxiety make sure you do have a relaxed belly because it really does make a massive difference

Man this helped a lot, I got tired of my dad calling me a bitch for not speaking loud enough.

Directly to the point & well spoken, I deeply appreciate when someone doesn't speak out of both sides of their mouth saying a bunch of nonsense instead getting straight to the point to which this Gentleman does, Well Spoken & Bravo. Semper Fidelis. Rooster P.Kock 🐓

I feel like my speaking voice entirely consists of bad habits and form. I’m a mumbler, and I don’t move my lips/tongue/jaw enough when I speak so things like my “b” “p” “s” and “t” sounds are poorly enunciated. i have a deep voice but it almost entirely comes from my head/upper throat. Lots of vocal fry. And my default volume is quiet, even though I feel like I’m speaking at a normal volume.

Whether it’s true or not, I’ve always felt like my speaking voice knocks me down a few social pegs, and affects how others view me. Hopefully training myself to speak from my diaphragm instead of the middle of my head will be a good start in presenting my internal self to others.

YouTube searched for paralinguistics.. this video came up.
The way you delivered the content, the context and knowing what the f*** ones is going to talk about; being highlighted is excellent. I want to learn more from you. Thank you for doing this, taking the time out of your day, editing your videos and helping us all "look after our voices".

I was just watching an Adam Curtis documentary and then this bit about 'authority'
You're right! He's got a fairly deep voice it seems but whatever he said had such a powerful impact.

After wasting much of 2020 thinking I needed to tone my abdominals in order to improve my breath support… I appreciate you making it clear that flexibility and stretching and lengthening are more important.

I am just 15, but I know for a fact that if you want to have the whole room's attention you have to stop giving in and stop putting a fake layer on your personality, speak with your chest, talk about relevant ideas and something interesting. If they enjoy what you said, found it funny etc. There is no reason they won't listen to you again. And what I mean by giving in is like if I give an example this girl xyz in my class always says I am sorry even if it wasn't her fault, u don't have to be apologetic, but there is a line which you cannot cross when you are speaking. Also try including as many people as you can when you are talking about something that happened, for instance last week.

Video was well made and very informative. I have now learned how to speak like a pushy car salesman. That'll come in handy, I'm sure.

I have a weak out of shaped abdominal stomach for personal issues and some other issues relating to my health that explain why I have monotonous and shaky or unbalanced and weak voice also constantly dehydrated or have too much Siliva effecting the way I speak.

Hey, I don't know if you can help me out but here's my story and question - I lived as a introvert for all of my childhood and early teens. I usually didn't used to speak to anyone at all. At my house or anyone at my school cause I didn't had any friends lol. So I did had anyone to talk to and thus never had a chance to express my opinions and have a meaningful conversation. All I ever talked about was casual. Also I was not popular in my school and sometimes even abused there. So all this had made me confined only in my thoughts. Wherever I speak it's unclear and with my observation my mouth doesn't even completely opens up. It's so annoying and embarrassing when people say that they didn't really got what I was saying cause I was too fast and unclear. I got suggestions to open my mouth when I speak which I unconsciously can't. I cannot speak a word meaningful if I'm in a uncomfortable situation or in a new environment. Please help me out. What's the thing I should work on? I do not want to become a voice artist etc. I just want to express myself and my emotions to the fullest.
