It’s hard to watch an idol grow old. I sure know it doesn’t seem like that much time has passed. But it was 25 years ago at least I started watching Jay. Always wanted to meet the legend and see the legendary garage.

This is the first time I’ve heard his voice sound like an old man. And his vocal cadence has slowed a bit. I love this guy, some of my earliest memories were when I was 3-4 years old and watching him on TV.

Hi Jay, I met you in 1998 in Chicago. We were staying at the same hotel across from McCormick Place. You sat down with me in the hotel lobby and we had a nice conversation about motorcycles and cars. Still a big fan. God bless you and your family.

As you get older you literally begin to see and notice people age. This year I’m really seeing it. Love you Jay, you are a true and genuine human being. God bless you sir.

I can't believe how much weight Jay has lost since his last accident. I hope and pray everything is ok with him. I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle back in 2001 and nearly killed. I used to watch the tonight show every night to help me deal with the extreme pain. Jay's show used to be on 3 different times late at night, which really helped me. I could never pay him for what he did for me.

My heart goes out to Jay and his beloved wife Mavis while she suffers from advanced Alzheimer's disease. She has been the love of his life and sometimes doesn't even recognize Jay or him being her husband, that has to be heartbreaking. I met him in 1984 while on a PSA Flight from SFO to LAX, we sat together, exchanged a few pleasantries, we both nodded off for the last hour of the short, roughly hour and a half flight. We exchanged goodbyes then I saw him later on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

The last two years have taken a toll on our favorite car collector Jay Leno. He's had some injuries and he went through a rough time with his wife's mental deterioration. Those things will age you quickly when you are over 70 years old. He's lived a full life and is deserving of slowing down now in his ladder years. His legacy and his car collection will live forever.
