It’s baffling that the writers tried so hard to pretend like Ellaria and Daenerys were strong female characters, but as soon as they ran out of source material they gave them every bad female stereotype in the book. Irrational, controlling, overly emotional, and constantly talking down to people.

Ellaria "avenged" her lover’s death by murdering a little girl his entire family because apparently men are weak, than she gets outsmarted and defeated by the most sexist man in the seven kingdoms. Bravo guys. You screwed up Dorne in every conceivable way. They didn’t even bother to give the new prince of dorne a name 🤦‍♂️.

I hate what the writers did to Ellaria. She loved Oberyn, but it didn't make any sense hating Myrcella. Myrcella was the exact opposite of Cersei. If they'd have kept her alive, she could have been Queen after Tommen offed himself.

This conflict feels so fucking forced. Like Doran states the fact: "Trial by combat is not murder" and she just ignores it, doesn't even acknowledge it

In the books, Oberyn and Doran Martell were much closer than expected, one was a great diplomat and the other was a great warrior, what a team.

They were too lazy to even try to adapt the Dornish story, and it's so frustrating, Doran Martell is one of the most galaxy brain players in the books but they had already given up trying with new sub-plots.

i knew they fucked up the dorne plot the moment they decided not to include Arianne in the show

It's so funny to me how the show took one of the kindest characters in the books and turned her into polar opposite.

Elleria happens to be one of the most empathetic characters in the books. And she is also wise enough to separate vengeance from justice.

In fact, she is the one who objected when Sand Snakes intended to kill every each Lannister. Because Elleria knows that revenge is not the solution, it's merely a cycle and only brings more pain...

I think since the show didn't include Arianne Martel to the story, they wanted her story to be included with another character. And they chose Elleria for some reason.

Although Arianne wasn't a cruel person either, she actually cared about Myrcella and never wanted her to get hurt. And she also cared about the Kingsguard that called Arys Oakheart. So I don't even know what the show tried to do at this point.

All I remember is Oberyn screaming and dying because they dont hurt little girls in dorne. He died avenging exactly this because of whst happened to his sister

I find it stupid that ellaria was that mad about Oberyn being killed he offered to represent Tyrion in a trial by combat and she acts like the lannisters murdered him

i think the anger over Ellaria comes from her illogical motives and lack of any real plan besides murder.
Arianne Martell had similar plans to rebell and start a war for revenge but it was more about crowning Myrcella queen than murdering her which Oberyn would have despised. and Doran has been planning on crowning Dany queen for 17 years so Arianne wasn't too far off. alter Ellaria's plans slightly to crowning Myrcella and having Myrcella die another way would make her 100x more sympathetic and believable.
