I work at a BMW dealer in UK, as soon as they run out of warranty they fall apart, after 3 years we have to change tie rods as they sieze up due to having a really fine thread where corrosion sits in. We are loving their recalls though, keeping us busy and earning lots of bonus.

I heard a joke that if you can’t afford a New BMW, then you can’t afford a used BMW either xD

True statement! They are developed with "calculated lifespan" (BMW).

Glad I found Scotty’s videos. I’m a single mom of three who has never had a lot of money so I have had nothing but lemons my whole life. Thanks to Scotty I decided to buy a Lexus and so far it has been the best vehicle I have owned. I love my Lexus and so do the kids!!!

And the other problem is because most people lease them. After their lease is up, the market has a million used BMW sitting on the lots. People are only leasing them brand new and the market understands that

Folks with money know you never *buy* a BMW, only lease one.

Owned a E90 xi over 110k miles with no problems but I work on them myself. They r money pits if u listen to the dealership.

I could not agree more. I bought a 2011 X3 that now has 91000 miles on it. The latest nightmare is the TPMS Sensor going bad. I checked it out online and it looked like a simple fix. A tiny circuit board mounted in fron of the rear passenger side wheel, covered by one plastic cover. You can see where this is going, right? The dealer quoted $1200 for the fix. The board probably costs $10 to manufacture. Oh and you need a BMW dealer to upload a new code to unlock the board for use. Never again. And every Junior G-Man wannabe white-collar business maven leases these things and beats the snot out of it for 36 months before handing it off to YOU. Beware.

I've been driving E46 320d for three years. I've spent about total 500e in parts. That's not bad at all imo. Up to E46/E39 BMW was doing good except some vanos problems and oil leaks.

I own a 2008 335. Love it to death, but don’t ask me about reliability 😂

My buddy in Hawaii wants to buy a late model 640i.

I sent him this link. I’m waiting to see what Dean will do.

I loved every one of my 7 Porsches but the last one was a ‘91 C4; all of them before excessive plastic and electronic.

Like Scotty says, if you must (and let’s face it, in stock form, the Germans drive much better than Japanese) buy new and sell before the warranty expires or lease it.

From a guy born same year as you Scotty, here’s to your good health and wellbeing.

BMW 330xi with 205, 000 miles. I’ve owned it for almost 5 years. No problems, but I maintain the vehicle.

I brought a 3 year old Vauxhall’s Astra had it for 2 years and spent 3k on repairs, eventually had enough of it when the DMF went on it, so I sold it, and I brought a 13 year old BMW 330i M Sport, with 82000 miles on it, it now has 117000 miles on it and had it for just over 3 years, and hardly spent anything on it, just changed the tyres, brakes pads, a vanos solenoid, and a rocker cover gasket. Other than that, the car is great. Don’t be put off, the parts are a bit more expensive but you are paying for quality, don’t put cheap parts on your car from the likes of eBay, keep it OE.

The parts are super expensive, I do most of my own repairs but wont buy a BMW because of how much the parts cost

For the first time i do agree with u .. BMWs are nice cars with blush interior and attractive exterior, but they’re the nastiest money bits ever manufactured..
