I see different animals have different needs.
This is a huge contrast to dogs cats and hamsters who all need a lot of space to be happy.
Very interesting

I noticed tarantulas are smart and learn very quickly, once my girl realised that my presence did not = danger or harm she became super curious of her space often sitting out in the open for hours whilst exploring because of this I have given her a really large Viv with tubes and holes and lots of interesting things and she seems to love it ❤

That really surprises me. Thanks for the info (even though I’m not going to have one for like 5 more years)

It’s so cute because they like to be all cozy in their enclosure 🫶🏻

I would love to have one, but I am deeply afraid of spiders 🕷️ 😅😅

But they live just fine in nature where space is "infinite" compared to their size

U need more substrate. Adult curly hairs need AT LEAST 4-5 inches. By the looks of it u only have abt an inch. You also need humidity for ur curly hair

I feel like that this line of thinking and sharing as an absolute fact is a bit dangerous to the hobby. There hasn’t been enough scientific evidence towards that premise of “too much space”. I keep some of my slings in an enclosure that is significantly larger than them, like upwards of 100 of them could take up the area I give them and they make full use of all of the space and eat just fine. They hunt for enrichment and the red runners or crickets eventually make their way to them. I do give them plenty of hiding spaces yet I see them out moving around more than anything. I think it’s hard to draw the line between too big an enclosure being worse for the human than the T sometimes. After all, in the wild, they have literally a whole ecosystem as their enclosure and if it stressed them out to have space that much they wouldn’t continue to exist for as long as they have

Depends on species and specific needs but yeah thats the general rule of thumb for terrestrial tarantulas only.

I was going to ask about enclosure size so thank you!

Bigger terrarium means nothing if you keep enclosure short for terrestrials. They need a place to hide and the argument oglf "they won't eat in big enclosure" is just plain stupid.

So another foot of length makes it harder to find food?
Spiders out in the world are just different? How does that work?

Why it is so friendly? You take care of it since it born?

You said 2-3 times its size the tarantulas body and you measured it long wise, but how about the width? And or the height? I saw a 10 gallon terrarium measuring 20L 10W 12H or a 20 gallon measuring 24L 18W 12H . I am getting an adult GBB (green bottle blue tarantula)
