Tarantulas are great pets, but you should never handle them unless you absolutely have too. And putting them on your back and face is very dangerous. First of all, they could very easily fall and rupture their abdomen, leading to death. They also could kick urticaring hairs, which are setae on the abdomen
of the tarantula that they can kick into the air, they stick into skin and cause burning and itching. If they get in you eyes, nose, mouth, or ears, you will probably have to get them removed by a doctor. It also puts a lot of unnecessary stress onto the spider. Moral of the story, tarantulas are cute and make great pets, just try not to handle them unless absolutely necessary. Also having two of them so close to eachother is dangerous, as tarantulas are cannibals.

This is pretty dangerous for the tarantulas. Most people, myself included until recently, don't know that terrestrial tarantulas are prone to rupturing their abdomens if they fall from heights as low as a few inches.

I was never “taught” to fear spiders, especially tarantulas. I think that arachnophobia is developed from our early human ancestors’ reactions to seeing spiders when they were still living in the wild.

That being said, I know that tarantulas aren’t nearly as dangerous as they look. But I also have a hard time getting past the anxiety I feel when I see spiders of certain sizes shapes. But I am glad there are plenty of arachnid enthusiasts who adore these little creatures and willing to give them love, support, and homes—like this little girl! ❤
