Getting stuck golf swing is a backswing and downswing killer so to get arms in front of the dody in the golf will help consistency and power. If you have your golf swing plane correct, you will have better delivery and consistency and effortless golf swing power.

Another great video. I have been doing exactly this. Dragging the right arm inside trying to get the hands deep and make a big turn. Results could be good some days, but terrible others. During my desperate You Tube search for answers, I have seen other teachers talk about putting the left hand under the right tricep, but never really understood what is was supposed to be doing. Alex adds the context ... defining what "getting stuck" means, defining what "keeping arms in front of body" means, showing how this leads to early extension and explaining how this idea fits into Alex other backswing videos like "turn the core". The Art of Simple Golf is well named as it truly fits how Alex teaches and it very much resonates with me. Thanks Alex!

This is EXACTLY what happened to me! My path was consistently at 5-7 degrees in to out. Was working so hard to figure why I couldn’t hit an out to in path and your video explains everything. I was over rotating my shoulder and getting stuck inside causing me to either early extend or chicken wing to hold off the hook. Thanks a million for this video! Now I’m hitting a modest 1-2 degrees in to out with a slight fade. Still trying to get down to 0 or less but it will take time.

Stumbled across this video and grateful I did. I’m a single digit handicapper lost my swing recently. Snap hooks and even occasional sh*nk. Instructor immediately noticed my arms are getting stuck in downswing causing me to come up on toes and flip hands. Was looking for drills to work on and this one should do it. Thanks. ⛳️

Hi Alex - just came across this video, exactly what I’m doing - getting away with Irons but Driver is appalling ! Trying to get huge turn then feeling totally cramped on downswing. Thank you for this, over the range next week to practice and also have a lesson booked ! 😁👍

Thanks Alex. I have been working on a bigger hip turn and this magnified my taking the arms back too deep. the symptom was the clubhead hitting behind the ball or hitting thin shots. your suggestion to keep the right arm more in front on the backswing seems to be the best solution at this point.

A long time ago, I actually used an alignment stick, under my arms across my chest, and pracrticed short swings. Unfortunately, I got away from that, and started getting stuck again. I happened on your video, and was pleased. I wasn't so crazy afterall!!! Thankyou.

I thank you so much for this video. I truly believe this will help. I was a side arm pitcher and I feel as though I'm really trying to dig my right elbow into my side and it's killing my distance.

Great video and Importantly, an Explanation as WHY you should do this. This is a big problem for me and as you say it causes many, many problems. I will definitely try this on the range tomorrow Alex and let you know what happened.

Nice, that's exactly what I was talkin about in my comment on your last vid. How good players have some separation of the arm from the chest and rotate their chest into the arm on the down swing and I think it's something I don't do enough of. I tend to get my left arm stuck to my chest too much and my right elbow stuck to my side too much. I'm kinda somewhere in-between taking the bits I like from stack and tilt and a more conventional swing atm 🤷‍♂️🤣 I'd already seen this drill and done it a little bit but I'll be doing it a lot more now. 👍🙂🙂
