How to stop saying Um and Ah - easy fix

I've noticed a couple of major factors in why people fall back on ums and uhs. One is that people are thinking and talking at the same time, which leads to unclear and weakened communication. The other is that people wish to keep the floor to finish their thought, especially in group conversation and use ums and uhs as placeholders so they aren't interrupted. The key to remember is that you can't talk the way you might write, constantly editing yourself or hedging on what you're saying. It's best to think through what you're going to say and how you're going to say it ahead of time, letting the power of your point overcome any nerves about communicating it, and then have it out and let it go. It takes practice, even years, but it's entirely worth it.

My teacher use to say if your not passionate about what your saying then you get nervous because you are trying to come up with an explanation rather than a good explanation. If you are passionate about what you’re saying you will say what you mean even if you are scared of talking.

This is like, uh, the best tip I found in a long time. After doing Over 400 videos combined on YouTube, FB, and IG, I noticed that I said way to many uh. This is a total game changer that I’m able to implement immediately. Thanks 🙏

This makes the most sense out of the other videos I looked up about this tiny verbal annoyance. Thank you very much for posting. I've listened to voicemails where I have ummmed and I had to erase and re-record. That will definitely make you aware of how you sound to other people.

Amazing tip, worked instantly. In fact, it forces me to think and organize what I want to say ahead so I'm not thinking and speaking at the same time, which has been my problem.

I appreciate the tips you offered. I have just recently garnered a following on my channel and began to upload content with me speaking. I realized in all my videos I found myself pausing and saying uhh or umm several times and was embarrassed of the constant use of the two. I tend to think rapidly with several precise thoughts coming and going and it becomes difficult to articulate myself appropriately with my audience, although in my head it makes sense it just seems to come out as if I'm completely lost on what I want to say. I will be applying these tips in my future content

Thanks for this video. I’m going to try it as I’ve just received a comment on one of my videos from someone saying they love my videos, but have to turn the sound off because they find my constant use of the word ‘um’ so annoying! 🤞
