well, one thing of being in a family with much older parents is i got to watch my relatives die during my whole youth....you may think thats a bad thing...i'm not so sure anymore, in my own case now i'm 56yo, i'm seeing death as a final end to suffering... and i'm very much at peace with this...what scares me is suffering WHILE dying..i really look forward to dying in my sleep....which if you knew me (i sleep like 12 hours a day :P ) is a high probablity :) i'm not bitter over this one bit however, i view death as a welcome friend... and there's no consideration of an afterlife with me either...the only immortality i ever could see think of or depend on is living on in my child. that's humanities TRUE immortality....the offspring we create and shape and leave behind as a much better version of you. . .
