Dr Lockdown is the most vocal person about these type of transformation joints, mentions it alot in the legionary marathon videos so you're not alone! I've been let down by them alot on G1 toys too.

Seems Hasbro hates these too as they've avoided them in recent years.

Sliding rails...jusy...the worst...

They break down over time too, especially on 3P figures.

...I was not expecting that sudden left turn at the end there. 😂

yes as someone with old vintage transformers and gi joe figures its so stressful trying to display them or move them around because of the joints and the elastic bands in gi joe figs.

idk, never experienced a figure with slide joints apart from titans returns sixshot. and besides, apart from animated swindle, I never have had problems with clear plastics, so I've yet to experience any figure breaking on me while playing around with it. so I don't worry about thqt often.

I mean. Yeah. But like. I don't think you'll find a lot of people arguing against 9/11 being bad. That's not so much a personal opinion as it is an objective fact.

Nah, sliders are fun on the right figures. Legacy Beachcomber has shown me that.

Yeah and not only that its janky too, i mean the first time it stays there without moving, but after that you look at the figure and it either falls just moves nonstop

Ah yes, makes me remember an experience with the Unique Toys 3rd party figure of Onslaught where I had to pull out a part from his torso to get him into his truck mode.

This single step took me HALF AN HOUR due to how tightly it was stuck there. The stupid piece wouldn't budge no matter how hard I pulled on it, I genuienly thought that I had a defective copy.

Can I have the red and white and blue one?

It’s worse when it’s the legs because after a while the joints get weak so it keeps caving in

Slider joints tend to be avoided by professional toy designers because they are the easiest to wear off and damage. To boot, some 3P abuse then with metal pieces inside the railing, which is even more damage to the railing.

It depends imo, Cell Unicron uses it but the legs lock in in both modes instead of using friction

Sliding rails can be done right, like on mp13, but they can also be done horribly wrong, like on [8 in 10 of all transformers toys official and unofficial that use some sort of sliding rails at all]

Yep! These are just kinda scary to mess with. On some older figures i don't mind. Like some older unicron trilogy figures have it, but theyre chunky and built like tanks, so i feel more secure with them! 😅

See I agree in general but also that's my favorite part of transforming G1 Hot Rod and I love that mold

9/11 when America hit its towers itself using two planes, it was probably the worst

my worst part of any transformers figure is when the shoulder pegs into something, and the peg is super small and erodes over time, (eg. studio series scourge, tfp first edition prime)

You should check out this toy line called machine robo rescue/mugenbine
