I am a phd student and I love doing research. I feel very sad when Islamic scholars say that women should stay at home, maintain the household and raise children. When i think about that life it feels so poisonously boring. With the development of the technology you have washing machine, you have dishwasher, you have vacuum cleaner, and refrigerator. So what is the "work" womoen supposed to do all day? Raise kids? How many? One day the children becomes old enough to go to school. What do you do with the free time? I have seen so many in *strictly* islamic families women are lazy and backbiters, and addicted to tv and cellphones. They don't do anything at home other than making issues in the families. Such a wastage of human resources.
Thank you for talking about the issue

We are such a misunderstood religion. Islam is not getting enough credit for being such a beautiful religion. People have so many stereotypes because there are so many fellow Muslims who think this way. I admire and respect Hazrat Khadija Raziallahu Tanahu and all Prophet Muhammad's wives (PBUH) because of their lifestyle and independence even in such an era. Hazrat Aisha Raziallahu Tanahu was the mother of Ummah and is said to be the most intelligent scholar in Islamic history. She was so special that Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) had a prophesized dream about her. He had gotten married to her early because of that same dream.

It’s interesting that he mentions Malaysia and Indonesia as good examples of women actively participating in society and having rights because traditional Malay culture is a matriarch which is very different from the other Arab countries we are familiar with like Saudi, Yemen etc which have traditional patriarchal systems. Malays have always honoured women and it’s been taught culturally, so for Islam to support these already existing traditions is a no-brainer.

It is even documented that prior to the Prophet (SAW) introducing Islam to Mecca, the people were corrupt and treated the women and girls absolutely terribly. Islam was a way to teach them and reform them, that women have human rights as well.

I always believe that if Allah didn’t want me to be an Architect, he wouldn’t give me the merit to qualify for that position. I am good in math and science, why would I be good in these fields if Allah doesn’t want me to use that skills!

Based on my experience as a Muslimah born and raised in Indonesia for 25 years, I admire the women there. They form communities that engage in activities like organizing religious programs, training women in new skills, and creating entrepreneurs who support their families financially while being wives and mothers. These kinds of communities provide a supportive environment for personal growth, economic empowerment, and for women to fully realize their potential.

However, balancing work and family responsibilities can be tough without enough support.

Yess.. even Caliphate Umar bin Kattab (Radiallahu anhu) appointed a muslimah (asy-syifa bint Abdullah Al-alawiya) to became the supervisor/head of the market.

I am an attorney and a Muslim woman. As a follower of the teachings of Dr. Israr Ahmed, Radhiallahu ta'ala Anhu, I have frequently sought guidance on the internet regarding the suitability of the legal profession for women. Today, while viewing this particular video, I found the answer I had been seeking. I am profoundly grateful for this enlightenment. May God bless you. Thank you very much. ❤

May Allah give the worst of jahannum to the men who think that their wives are not even worth giving the respect given to a servant... May Allah give justice to the women who suffer 😢

Thank you so much to the wonderful Nouman Ali Khan who shares the teachings of the Quran so clearly and uses examples to make it easy to understand. So many Muslims are deeply rooted in culture as opposed to our beautiful religion which means so many girls and women are bereft of education as well as work opportunities. May Allah bless you and all of us 🙏🏼

JazakAllahu Khairan Kaseer Sir Nouman. I have been feeling this identity crisis for a long time now just because the scholars literally portray women as lesser beings... They conflate the messages of Surah Ahzab and present them to reinforce the idea that women are just to serve men at homes.... I feel sad and disappointed that they are scholars and still misunderstand the messages regarding women. Allah created women as allies of men, and not lesser human beings, and He has Told us in the Quran Himself. Allahu Akbar ❤
