DIY groomer of two 20lb doodles here. The grooming table with the harness makes a HUGE difference. I tether under belly and around neck. Never thought of the front tether. Good idea.

My personal opinion as you introduce him when they’re young, if that don’t work just slowly use different sounds around them, but also you don’t force it too much but also with me is gonna happen if I got a dog that’s getting mad at it will happen. We will figure it out and we gonna push through it, but it will happen. I don’t do rescue dogs, but if I did and especially if it was a Shitz doodle I won’t be able to PetSmart or Petco. I will be doing my grooming at home because if you take a dog from a shelter at the end of the day when they get used to you, they trust you not someone you give them to for a grooming. People if you have an aggressive dog, do it yourself.

My dog gets really freaked out and ends up almost hurting herself whenever I try to trim her legs or cut her nails. I can do most of the grooming at home( washing and cutting her hair) but she just goes crazy about her paws being touched. Even shaving her backside is easier than trying to get near her paws, she thrashes around like crazy. She’s pretty old too so her nails get out of control fast.

Help. I am in a grooming academy through ABC Animal Behavior College and I accidentally nicked my maltipoo girl Rosie at her bottom eye lid. I applied first aid. Was not serious enough to take her to the vet but now she’s afraid and stressed more than she already was with me practicing grooming. She’s so fidgety when I groom her too

Nope. Got a call from the groomer today. They couldn’t finish the groom. Sent my dog home without being fully groomed. Body was shaved and her nails were clipped. That’s it. Face - nope. Bath - nope.

That won't help with my Standard Poodle. He came to me two years ago with medications to sedate him for grooming sessions, and I groom him myself to make it easier on him... He still struggles to get away from clippers, scissors, and having his legs and paws handled in ANY capacity.
