It's worth considering that the year of half-squats is built on the foundation of years of full depth squats

Deep squat isn't meant to increase our vert directly, it's more like a physical requirement that build the foundation for half squat and quarter squat when you start loading the bar heavy. And the best part is that it's good to do slow full depth squat like you usually do on Saturday, slow and controlled movement will make your tendons feel better since it doesn't load them as rapidly as half squat and explode on the way up.

It's a dope case study. Hit the nail on the head — the key is training hard with progressive overload. My takeaway is deep squats are most effective for the strength foundation while half squats are most effective for those with a high training age as adaptation gets more challenging. Thanks for sharing this.

I would do trap bar deadlifts for explosive power. If I’m doing squats I’m doing light weight deep squats. I save the heavy shit for deadlifts

I am a person with short torso and long legs i did atg squats since i was 12 til 21 i grew my legs and glutes a lot but i had a lot of endurance with half squats i can do them fast and i got better sprinting times than before i think when you go below 90° tenshion shifts and you don t train as efficient

So is this discrediting deep squats and aim your approach more towards half squats with a slow approach or can I just do deep squats at high intensity with also proper weight and buildup
