How Russia’s strategy in Ukraine failed

Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to recent battlefield reversals in Ukraine by announcing a “partial mobilization” of 300,000 Russian conscripts. Many of Russia’s biggest problems stem from the depleted nature of its forces. As armies replace mass casualties with ill-trained recruits, it becomes harder to maintain unit cohesion.
Cohesion, or the bonds forged between soldiers, is interwoven with troop morale. Cohesive units tend to operate more efficiently and, consequently, have higher morale. This is what enables them to continue fighting effectively in the face of stressors and setbacks.
Putin’s poor replacement strategy—patching huge gaps in the lines with poorly-trained conscripts—may be a surefire recipe for disaster. It is not only hard to assimilate fresh conscripts into veteran units amidst ongoing operations—it can be downright dangerous.
Do you think Russia’s replacement strategy will continue to cause a loss in unit cohesion? Is this the beginning of the end for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine? Let us know in the comments.

Literally the only good thing this has done for Russia now is lowered its prison inmate numbers. Can only think as well though how many people in Russian prisons who didn’t even deserve to truly be there in the first place were also mobilised and are now either dead or permanently disabled.

Yes, Russia is not taking the survival of the troops in consideration. He just needs to fill the holes in the military troops 😲🥹😏☹️😢😢😢🥰🥰💙💛💚

It is so heartbreaking to see them say goodbye to there loved ones because they are being sent to die in a senseless war.
They might be the invaders but damn, they are still human.

Hopefully yes. I would expect Russian casualty figures to be much higher than those released.

Logistics is the main problem! Without a strong replacement command motivation to fight goes down the drain.

The other problem is that Mobilization relies heavily on PAPER documents that in many cases have not been updated in decades and can be in error. This means that there are less troops than actually mobilized.
