Vladimir Putin is touting a new “miracle weapon” against Ukraine. Moscow’s hypersonic missile is quote on quote “invincible,” and its use is a response to far-reaching attacks from Ukraine. How dangerous are these latest developments? Are we reaching the level of escalation many had feared? The missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro is a message to the West. The weapon has a range of several thousand kilometers and could also be equipped with nuclear warheads. NATO is on high alert. But the US, France, and Great Britain first allowed Ukraine to shoot deep into Russian territory. Germany's Olaf Scholz has so far not followed suit. On Ukrainian soil, Russian troops are advancing very quickly as North Korean soldiers are also deployed to support them. Strength is the only language Putin speaks. Until the west responds in kind, as opposed to the west’s default stance of pacifism over the past decade (especially Germany’s), Putin will continue pushing.

It's Putin bashing. No one talks about Minsk agreement and the peace initiative kicked out by Boris. It shows how biased DW is.

The most interesting thing about listening to DW is the different cultural views.
Hypersonic missiles are not useful on the front lines or there would already be thousands of them expended. They're also not intrinsically accurate. They are instead useful "behind the front". The Russians learned how discomfited the British were were by the V-2 weapon in 1944 and wish to inflict this angst on Ukraine in 2024. Pain for Pain's sake. It is no wonder the Ukrainians resist. And V-2 weapons did not affect the final outcome of the World War II - Hypersonics will not affect the outcome in Ukraine.

I would not take lightly to any country launching a nuclear capable missile in Polokwane, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Upington, Rustenburg, or any other part of South Africa. Therefore i find it foolishness to call this scary move by Russia a bluff.
