#13 What are Complex Worries & How You Can Beat Them - Overcoming Worry & Anxiety | Dr. Rami Nader
Показать описание
There are some worries that are more complex than others. They have a mix of Type 1 worries (worry about current, actual problems) and Type 2 worries (worry about future, potential problems). What is the best method for dealing with these worries? In this video, I discuss a recipe or formula for dealing with these complex or mixed worries that contribute to anxiety. The recipe is the following:
1. Identify the worry as a complex/mixed worry.
2. Think about ways in which you can be more tolerance of uncertainty in the situation.
3. Identify and challenge beliefs about the usefulness of the worry.
4. Address negative problem orientation and engage in problem solving to deal with the Type 1 part of the worry.
5. If, after successfully solving the problem, you are still worrying about future negative events, then you can use cognitive exposure to address the remaining Type 2 part of the worry.
