These are few Islamic traditions we follow after 7 days of giving birth

1. Naming the baby: we should try to pick names with good meanings

2. Aqeeqa: is a form of welcome for the baby and to give thanks to the One who gave the blessings, it is prescribed to slaughter a sheep

3. Shaving his or her head - we shave the head and give the weight of their hair in silver as charity

4. Circumcision (for baby boys)

What about you?

Do you have any cultural or religious traditions you perform after birth? If yes, share with us!

Mubaraaak and Thank youu 🌸 Just a reminder. We should always greet with Salam alaykum first. This has more weight than any other greeting. Wa ALLAHu A3lam I just say that, because we are all role models and learn from each other 🌸

I am not aware of any traditions in my culture but making sure mother and baby are healthy and giving support to the family is important.

Question: If your hypothetical son or daughter developed strong doubts and maybe even distanced themselves or denounced islam, how would you handle it?

My lil cousins name is ateeqa but she can't pronounce the letter "T" so she would always call herself aqeeqa its actually kinda funny but cute aswell
And may allah bless muhammad abdur rahman! :)
And a message to the kids of gaza
They should never give up, never loose hope and should always aprecciate that they are alive and should try to smile more because its sunnah
