I got one on an impulse buy. For me it does break down the meat faster and finer; I don't have to hunt down lumps as often as when using a wooden spoon. Did I need it; no, does it save me time whem breaking down meats specially for faster cooking, definitely. I guess it's like a garlic press; do you need one even though your chef's knife can do the job; no, does it save you time, hell yeah!

I just bought one of those meat choppers at Dollar General the other day. It was the only one left so I think it's a popular item. I've used it once and I liked it. It speeds up the process to break up the meat.

I love mine, my hands used to cramp up with spoons. If you have arthritis or carpet tunnel get one its so much easier and less painful !

She made up her mind before trying it.

She definitely had a bias because you could see that chopper thing clearly did a better job. Really weird reaction from her 🤷‍♀️

“This thing doesn’t really stir”
...as she demonstrates it stirring quite easily

I use mine all the time and like it. But if your browning up one pound of ground meat, no you don't really need it, but if your cooking 3 - 5 or more pounds, yes it works really well and saves you time, and your not standing there hacking away at the meat with a spoon. It also works good if your mixing meats like beef and Italian sausage for pasta sauce, and for ground turkey to get a nice even grind size. It makes mixing all the seasonings into meatloaf so so easy, and meatballs to.

The chopper makes it easier to chop up ground meat in an Instant Pot or other really deep pot. For a shallow fry pan, I prefer the wooden utensil.

Has anyone else mentioned that you can just use both? The chopper chops the meat. After, the spoon is used for flipping. Peace in the Middle East!

Excellent demo. You helped convince me that I needed this product. I cook for my dog so I go through a lot of ground beef. It does what it is supposed to do. Easy to wash.

More uses than just to chop meat! I use this on crushed tomato's for my poor man pasta sauce, mash up potato's for twice baked potato, to chop guacamole for dips, do mash bananas for banana nut breads. It has many more uses than you think. Best tool for chopping and stirring. I use a Farberware because it is heat resistance to 450 Deg's. All of the brands are useful.

I use a plastic flipper. It has a sharp edge to chop, you can stir, and scoop. There are different types, some are slotted, some are solid, some have a squared edge, some have a rounded edge. The rounded edge works better in a rounded skillet, it can slide into the curve. The squared edge flipper will chop better on a flat cooking surface.
One tool to rule them all!
I seriously considered getting one of these meat choppers but I realized I couldn't scoop with it, requiring a second tool.

I noticed that too with a meat chopper you can't scoop the ground beef or move it around as easily as a wooden spatula for instance but a meat chopper is great for breaking down the ground beef though with less work.

Awesome video. I was thinking about buying one of those choppers but after watching you do this versus video. I'm sticking to my spoon.. Love how you put everyone in their place about using a spoon with raw meat. For generations it's been done this way and we're all still 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have two meat choppers. The one that looks like yours I only use to initially break up the meat. I also use it to break up cooked meatballs so when I make my meatballs and spaghetti, the meatballs are quartered so there is a meatball in every bite. I spent 3 dollars for my more blunt one in Dollar General.

Thank you for actually showing you using it. I was on amazon for a similar product and somehow NONE of the videos showed them chopping meat that wasn't already fully chopped.

I make a lot of taco meat and sloppy joes. I can see the need for it. Different stores have linear texture different from another store. I won't name name's, but where I live I would like to have one, but not always. Thanks for the video.
