We tested this tool out a few weeks ago and it was pretty impressive, but I found it chipped easily like most kennametal turning inserts. Also at anything over 600sfm the tool life was terrible. But man at 450sfm at .300 per side and .02" feed the thing was a reliable beast in 4140 HT.

I just used this tool on a 20.25" diameter piece and machined it down to 10.68" @4.25deep doing a 0.285 depth of cut and 600sfm and 0.027" per rev it's very impressive tool

How do you keep these tools and their armature from rusting?

Tungaloy had an insert like this about 10 years ago. Did pretty well but each insert was like $40.00.
