Are predatory tow truck drivers lurking in parking lots, waiting to take your car right out from under you if you leave it for just second? Inside Edition got a tip from a viewer about one particular towing operation patrolling a McDonald’s parking lot in Brooklyn, New York. The tipster said he repeatedly saw cars getting hauled away within minutes of drivers leaving their vehicle to run a quick errand. So Inside Edition left cars as bait in the McDonald’s parking lot and set up cameras to see what happened. #InsideEdition

Damn, a tow truck is faster, then McDonald’s service time...

If a tow operator in NY tells you that the drop fee is $217, tell him you'll call the cops if he doesn't charge the state-mandated drop fee of $62.50.

That manager was getting a kickback for every car towed, only explanation.

this happened to my friend’s mother car.

so since I was staying over at my friends house, her mother decided that we could get KFC for dinner. When we arrived we parked we and headed inside to order. and not even 5 minutes later, a tow truck was taking my friend’s mothers car away. she ran up to the driver and told him to stop but he assaulted her by palming her face almost giving her a broken nose and tried to drive off but thank god someone called the cops and he got arrested for physical abuse.

They lost their license for Illegal tows, they towed Mc Donalds customers as well. Looks good on them.

Update: many 1 star complaints and now they're permanently closed for illegal towing. City towed their business out of town.

My brother is an entrepreneur and when he was starting a new company he considered towing but he changed his mind because he couldn’t stand the fact that he would make a living off of causing other people misery and the only encounters he would have with his clients is being hated on. I think this is pretty disgusting tbh.

The fact dude could just chill in a McDonald’s all day spotting cars tells you that the McDonald’s management is in on it. They’re all splitting up the money 💰

My friend just got his car towed today, and we had to pay about $500 to get it back, which was ridiculous!

For anyone trying to defend these guys also know they towed people who parked their car and went inside the McDonald's
I hope the manager and the spotter receive life in prison

"...no longer using that tow truck operator.." Yeah, they found a new company that's even faster!

The sign literally says if you’re not a customer and leave the parking lot you will be towed? How is this unfair? If this wasn’t regulated then customers wouldn’t be able to park.

Sounds like the employee is making side money, they should be fully investigated

That spotter is definitely getting cash for doing what he's doing, seeing as how fast he does it and the fact that tow truck driver charged $217 when the state mandated cost is $65.50

Lisa breaks into house
Cops show up
Lisa: "is it fair to arrest me within minutes of breaking in?"

Ah yes but the signs says no parking if your not a customer
In a busy city with limited parking its easy to say let’s park at McDonald’s

I liked the part when they did exactly what the sign said not to do and they were all confused and unhappy when they saw their cars getting towed.
