For anyone wondering, this is part of nature. It's completely normal for animals to eat their young in dire circumstances. Normally, they'll eat the smallest/weakest young first as they have a lower survival chance then a strong and healthy young. To us humans this is very immoral. But to a cat, it's all about survival. Who's gonna die to give the benefit of the other. Nature issnt always beautiful.

About 2-3 years back, a stray dog gave birth inside our compound. We tried a lot to reach to her and relocate her babies to safety but she is scared and violent. After 3 days 2 of her babies died at night and she ate them when we noticed in the morning. It's a normal behavior where mothers refused to go in search of food after giving birth and either eat the sick ones or the ones that die

Usually when the kittens die, their mother will eat the body to prevent it from rotting. Of course it's still a bit sad to see this but that's how they are.
